I am glad that you are giving her the gift of piano - i have my daughters in lessons as well as teaching them at home. The reason is simply that long after the gymnastics and ballet routines are doneand the body is to old to endure the exertion the gift of music will last in her until her faculties dissappear - as far as prodigy, well we all dream of our kids going further then ourselves, a word of caution against vicariously living through our kids

thank you! what I really was doing is experimenting with the impact of the title of the vid vs. the number of hits. As you can see, words like "amazing" and "prodigy" make a big difference. She is actually quite a talented singer and won the Texas Allstate vocal championship last year. Sadly though, piano does not seem to interest her very much.

I, for instance, stopped watching after the first 3 notes because I guessed what was coming and I still guess there came nothing, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Aimi Kobayashi plays Schubert's Impromptu OP.90 at the age of 6 and you can find the video on youtube. so this girl may not be prodigy. but don't give up. some pianists like Richter started to play at the age of 8. It's not too late to start at 6.
