I always went to see it in Calais when I was a child. It was so great. I loved the noise of its propellers :) and the vibrations it made on the ground.

Thank you for sharing this historical footage. Used to travel in a couple of hovercrafts, also the rare SN 500. It was an awesome way to cross the channel, I simply loved it, the mix between jet engines and the seamless hovering above asphalt, sand and water!

I used to load the US Navy LCAC (Landing Craft Air Cusion as the Navy/Marines call them) when I was in the US Marine Corps in the late 90's and early 2000's. As one departed fully loaded, a big wave came in and turned the LCAC vertical and almost capsized it - but it splashed back down horizontal again.
