re-doing Herbie for the FIFTH time

hi iv done this from scratch with a beetle model i noticed on the real 1:18 herbie the number are the wrong font and mine has a pull back sun roof

nope, acctually it used to be the Jonny Lightning grateful dead bug 1/18 scale diecast model. I just put some work into it and made it herbie instead :)

Ah, that's why he's a little too dark cream colored. I was afraid the model I just bought would be that dark. :P

Should be okay though. But turning another completely different model into Herbie, that takes some talent :-!

yeah I did. You can get it at any walmart, Its called "almond". If you want I could even email you the stripes and if you have a printer you can just get photo papor and print them out on that. :)

i love herbie i have tonnes of herbie stuff all the movies and everything. i have 4 1:18 scale bugs, and they are 1951, 1957 and 2 new beetles. all up i think i have 25 bug models and things and i ahve all 5 movies

I will also post the video i made of the decals i downloaded... they are glued on, but i got them off i socked them off...left a wet hand towel on them for 1 hour! then scrubbed the glue marks off... its ready for the decals you sent me. so there will be 3 vids coming your way! (1st decal set. 1st decal set removal, and your decal applying!)

I noticed the decals have 3 53's the same size, and 1 smaller one, is the smaller one the one that go's on the engine lid?

if you look close enough there are two the same size, one that a tiney bit smaller, and the smallest.

two biggest - doors

tiney bit smaller - hood

smallest - engin lid.

Thanks, i am thinking about making a Horace the hate bug! I have seen the movie twice.....I might buy the VHS off ebay.....and take it to this shop that puts Any form of video (VHS, mini VHS, Tape reels exc) and i would then have all 5 movies, on dvd. But making a horace would take alot longer than making a herbie that already is painted the write colour!

Um, i have just printed the decals off, and i noticed that there is a really small one (Engine Lid) 2 middle sized ones, and a larger one. Dose the 2 middle sized ones go on the doors? Because the larger one i think would go on the hood?

cool, I'll go check it out. I'm not sure if I've told you but when you print the picture, don't do "full page print" use the 5x8 or somthing like that, I forget. Just play around with the sizes untill it looks right, lol

oh, i have a mac, so the program that lets you veiw photos when you click print it figures out the best way to print the picture so that it looks like it dose on the screen.

also to make Horace you need to buy a couple bugs. because he has 3 bumpers on his front bumper. and to get the cloth top, i will see if i can make it will cloth, if not i am going to use decal paper and make it look just like the real Horace, its going to be tricky, but it will be worth it.
