Olivier dominated the classical stage at a time when the stage was the dominant medium for English actors (tv was in its infancy and movies were generally looked down on as an inferior medium). His appearance on the silver screen never captured his stage presence and he chose not to introvert his performances like most movie stars (perhaps, because he thought he was dignifying film by just been in it!). Branagh by contrast is a mediocrity in everything he touches; there's simply no comparison.
