My Friend has a cat (Mew) and a dog (Lykke) and they are like best friends... first the dog had puppies and Mew helped Lykke raise and protect them and in july Mew hat little cute kittens and Lykke was like a second mother to them ... :-)

It's people that bring these animals together. In the wilderness they'd be eating each other lol. My dog and cat were the best of friends, until my cat passed recently. My dog still looks out my bedroom window waiting for my cat to come home.

Adorable! :) about 15 years ago I had adopted a cat that was about to have kittens and already had a 4 year old doberman. Naturally I was a little worried about how she'd react to the kittens but when they where older I introduced them to her and she laid down as they came up to her sniffing and curious and she washed them and protected them not even letting visitors near! lol! Miss them all.. :(

A lot of these couples are dog and different species and rat and different species which makes sense since dogs and rats are naturally smart and social animals, but the solitary cat has had quite the shift in nature since being domesticated!

At 2:32, are these the snake and hamster from Japan? If so, the snake WAS hungry when they put the hamster in, but did not eat him, and they actually started getting along. Animal partnerships aren't just eat/be eaten, mate/don't mate, there are many examples of animals developing symbiotic relationships based on maternal instinct, grooming, health, protection, etc. It may not be some lovey dovey friendship but it's real nonetheless.

The amazing thing here is, that the animals might speak with other languages, that the other one is not really capable of using. But only trough body language they still understand each other. Humans should try to learn some things from that.
