The Ka-50 is a synonym to perfection. It really is a shame, that the Mi-28N is being put into Russian service in greater numbers(about 300 units planned), and the Ka-50 will remain for special ops (about 30units). In fact, Ka-50s Vikhr anti-tank missiles are launched at a greater distance than the Ataka missiles of Mi-28, and they are laser guided, not radio-guided like Ataka.

Overall, the Mi-28 seems like an obsolete design to me.

Both Hokum and Havoc use the same 30mm gun. However, on Hokum, the 2A4A gun is placed near the center of mass, and this has a reason. In fact, when shooting the gun from Ka-50, it is about 3 to 4 times more precise, than when shooting it from the nose turret of the Mi-28 Havoc. You ask me why? Think about basic Physics. Why are door handles placed so far away from the conjunction with the wall? Right, here you have the same effect, however you DON'T want the helicopter to be turned.
