Wow. I have been wanting to do level design for game since I was little. This blew my mind. How did you learn to do this? What school did you go to? All I can use is hammer editor for source engine games. I can't wait to learn things like this! Just because of this video I think I will spend all day working on my level. :D I'm so pumped up and ready to do things like this. Thank you for this video. Good luck in the future!
No it was the "Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU)". The course is called "Game Design & Development" but I believe they now have a seperate "Game Art" course as well.
However, I did study at the GLR before I went to the HKU.
First off, the quality was excellent. I thought the artwork itself was top notch. But when you say you were heavily influenced by gears and fallout, I think you were TOO influenced. Watching this, it felt like I was playing fallout again. It would have been cooler to see something a bit more unique and not so overdone by mainstream video games.
Just because someone is going to ask it, what kind of system were you using to record this video? Some people I showed this to said it wouldnt actually be playable because of the frame rates.
Anyways, excellent work. You guys wont have any problem getting hired somewhere, if you havent already.
AMAZING, looks like a very very good cross between Bioshock, Fallout 3 and Gears of War, man you guys should make a game and use this, because it's bloody amazing. Kudos for this.

@SonnoMaku
We went to a dutch Art school where we followed the course Game Design & Development.
We're mostly self taught and we learned a lot from studying other games and artwork from other artists.

Cheers guys, thanks for the comments.
Have to check for the exact specs but the pc has a dual core, 2 gig ram and a geforce.
This isn't really meant for a playable level, there would be a lot of optimisation needed to have a constant framerate.
It actually is playable, it ran at about 20-60 fps with a constant of around 35.
I think it's due to fraps that couldn't handle the high resolution we recorded it in.
