  • Portals version is muuuch better

    No offense Bach :)

  • @Thatguybehindthebush

its the same version idiot, if not better.

  • @Bcrich513 Fuck off.. I said it's better, it sounds better than the original! A version of a song doesn't make it different fucking retard -_-

  • @Thatguybehindthebush Uhh yeah, it's the same piece, just played in a portal-y way. You can play the piece however you want, it's not offensive towards bach. This here is not "the original", it's just another way of playing it.

  • Wheatley.

  • I am a portuguese organist, pianist and harpsichordist. I have learned to play baroque music by earing KOOPMAN and GOULD. 2 geniouses in BACH. Wen Bach listens to them playing, he smiles.

  • This is Wheatley in human form.

  • @MultiNatla so... not a moron

  • what instrument is this? also is there more songs like this i love this song it is my favorite classical music piece

  • @titanathl33t Harpsichord, the precursor to the piano.

The instrument is very similar except the strings are plucked instead of struck.

  • @titanathl33t it's a harpsichord

  • excellent

  • I'm GLaD for this song!!:)

  • Sorry Glenn Gould, but I like this version way more.

  • @panier66 I agree. Hate to agree its better than dear Glenn Gould but goddamn this is satisfying to the ear!!

  • Goodness it sounds like it was recorded in a stairwell.

  • @forscyvus Yeah, what a Machiavellian Bach..;)

  • @forscyvus Yeah, what a Machiavellian Bach ;)

  • Looking at people's enthusiasm, I wouldn't be surprised if Portal 2 is the reason for a huge baroque revival, even if it's just this one prelude being played in the beginning.

  • D: WOW PORTAL 2 FANS ARE FLOODING THE COMMENTS SECTION ... Portal 2 is epic by the way! :D

  • Fatty. The adopted fatty. Fatty fatty no-parents!!

  • @FrancytopoTM And?

  • @bononcrusher2 What?

  • @FrancytopoTM What exactly is wrong with being adopted?

  • @bononcrusher2 What-what's wrong in being adopted? Um..well...lack of parents..and..also..furthermore..nothing. Some of my best..friends are..orphans..but...

  • That's the sound of pages turning...

  • SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE :D

  • Portal 2!!! I could never get past this level :[

  • Half the comments are about Portal 2.

  • peeano is srs pizznizz. that's what the face is telling me right now.

  • So the gentleman seen here has to be Macchiavelli.

I recently read his book, you know because I am certainly not a moron.

  • Pages, being turned.

  • Yep. Just finished the last one. The hardest one, actually. Machiavelli. Do NOT see what all the fuss was about.

  • Oh sorry if that disturbed you. That was just the sound of pages being turned. ^w^

  • LOL!funny

  • oh no he's playing classical music by bach

  • It's weird that over half of the comments here are Portal 2 related...thanks to Wheatley

  • Oh, sorry. Hope that didn't disturb you just then. It was the sound of books. Pages being turned.

  • Never understood the hooplah over Machiavelli. Was easy, really easy. Always thought that Locke was harder.

Oh! That is my tea boiling, because smart people drink tea, and I am a smart person, so I am boiling tea... I'll rate this when I come back.

  • I must say, this music really goes with this Machiavelli book I'm reading. Classic book, too. It's for the most wonderful intellects. Like myself. Good music, good book. Yes.

  • @frgblae then you must recognize hubris as the essential trait for a tragic hero?

  • GLaDOS disliked this.

  • @eXAKR How are you holding up? Because I'M A POTATO.

  • @OrionisBeta but im a GLaTADO ;)

  • I'd just love to hear this version in really C Minor

  • Did anyone else notice that when you went on the Faith Plate, the beeps that played as you flew through the air corresponded to the music? It was a rather nice touch.

  • I listen to classical music while reading complicated books. Ergo, I am not a moron. ^_^

  • Now he's playing classical music.

  • TVTropes from the Portal 2 page anyone?

  • @theblazingraven

Guilty as charged. As big a fan as I am of both Portal and J. S. Bach, I wasn't able to put the two together in this case.

  • @theblazingraven You bet!

  • During the Baroque period, the music contained many ornaments but the performer was also free to improvise their own ornaments at appropriate places in the music.

  • @TifaJia That's a cool fact fact sphere!

  • Awesome! and so inspiring!! thank you

  • I liked all the songs that was made by bach

  • great!

  • The ornaments are his?

    or what?

  • @innerdeth I have an score with apoggiaturas and a lot of mordents and it should sound this way.
