I hated this show as a kid I would change the station every time I saw it was on. I would only watch The Real Ghostbusters Cartoon Series. But now i'm 35 and I love it, especially this theme song

Wish I could make a feature movie outta this. I've got a couple of ideas... It's year 2012 and something freakish starts killing ppl at the college where the blond guy's grand kid attends. The grandfather dies and leaves everything to the grandkid. The close friend and caretaker of the mansion (The main villian in the cartoon) when he sees the grandson stressed out about some of his friend's horrifically dieing, decides to show him the secret section of the mansion and help stop the creature.

I could never see how anyone could prefer this over the "Real" Ghostbusters. It's not terrible, but it just never interested me as a kid, and the recycled animation (a filmation trademark) is really irritating to watch as an adult.

If you have a channel called Qubo, they show 2 episodes of Ghostbusters every late night at 3AM. They also show 2 episodes of He-Man from 12AM-1AM, 2 episodes of She-Ra from 1AM-2AM, and 2 episodes of BraveStarr at 2AM-3AM.

I like both of them, but this one is actually based on the original Ghostbusters. As you probably know, Filmation had that live action show in the 70's starring Larry Storch & Forrest Tucker as the fathers of Eddie & Jake respectively (they appeared in animated form in the 1st episode of the cartoon which linked to the 70's show). And that show was before the blockbuster 1984 film.

It would be nice if Filmation would return to do more old style cartoons like these.

Awesome intro that I remember after a dozen of years and still kicks ass. Filmation's Ghostbusters was one of my first cartoons on VHS (imported to Finland, but not dubbed), and had at least the episodes The Fourth Ghostbuster and The Knight of Terror (and thatwas scary as Hell when I was a kid...) and my school friend had a VHS with the vampires Victor and Vampra. Say it's nostalgy but I like the show even in my twenties...

Actually this show is based off of a 1975 show.. so the name came first for this. That's why Dan Akroyd's had to be called "The Real Ghostbusters".

Filmation's Ghostbusters are based on The Ghost Busters from 1975.

The Real Ghostbusters and others are based on The Ghostbusters movie from 1984!

I was born in '83 as well, and was a huge fan of the Ghostbusters movie, and was a fan of the Real Ghostbusters. This was on at the same time, and it's...very different. I notice they tried to make Jake and Eddie look almost like Peter and Ray from the others, and even gave them some of the gear. Later on in the Ghostbusters game, the guys in gray would pick up stuff that would litter the firehouse just like these guys have. Kind of cool to notice that stuff.

I would say something snare, but if you were born in late 70's or in 80's you would've caught few episodes, I've seen this alot more then The REAL Ghostbusters animated show, because you have to remember there the original ghostbusters, just have to add filmation on the top.
