Do you think you could do more stuff with hardwood trees and stuff like that, you do a good job as far as technique but i dont think there will be a good supply of bamboo in most survival situations lol
?? That trap has enough power to stop or wound so you can track it? Also wondering if you would consider it useful to use a smaller piece hollowed out and placed into the striking point so there would be continual bleeding? Does that make sense?
@UL439 Yes, bigger Peice of bamboo for the spring and use 3 spears on it and for tieing it and what not, use Para Cord! its way better then that rope twine shit cuz that will break easily and rot and this will work with other types of wood too but if its not a strong enough spring then tie it once at the top then tie it again lower down the stick and fishing line works great for the trip line aswell
@SuperApurdy Sorry my friend most of the traps i show how to build i cannot use because of the laws however i was able to use my dead fall and catch some small animals.
great vids im really impressed pay no attention to the idiots! just jealous! i thought mabey you would like to make your own bushcraft knife. check out greenpete he is a good place to start. good knives can be made easy and simply and would be a good addition to your vids. keep it up your doin great
@TheGods1marine The bamboo in N Carolina is all very near to cities since they were all spread from nurseries. Don't get me wrong, your videos are amazing and very detailed, BUT i think for the most part they are too complex for a real life "lost in what-have you" situations, there are simple things that are just as effective and won't waste time and calories. These are nice boy scout tricks but go look at any special forces and you will see much simpler survival methods.
@aydinsha i think he is smarter than the ones on tv i mean come on he prob aint fourteen he has caught stuff lay off the kid he will last, when most wont
This is tried and true lethal killing device. This was more a test of the design, concept, and fuctionality of the trap's machanics, than a working model. Anyone can pull a pointy stick back, but the gold he gave us in this video was the live visual example of the more complex than usual multiple toggle and ring trigger/tripwire design set-up. With some tweaking this trap can easily unleash more than enough kenetic force to cleanly dispatch any unwary animal. Great trap, great video Reggie.
how did you get the spear to store enough energy to spring back so quickly? and will the force of the spear be enough to actually puncture the thick and tough hide of a pig?
@ThePremedcandy I doubt this would have enough power to penetrate the skin of a pig however when building this trap for the first time i manged to put a good size hole in my backpack.
Good video. Interesting experment, Good thinking - you're a Clever lad, Yes, kind of risky because you could get something besides legal game, maybe even a dog or human. You spent a lot of time on that bushcraft project.
@UNIDEN2211 Thank you my and no worry i checked the law and this trap is illegal so i only practice with it and then take it down. However i must say they are fun to build and put to gather even if have to take it down after.
Great vid Reggie. You know I have seen that diagram many times and this is the first time I have watched it in action. Well, with the working open to the learner, that is. Well instructed. Subbed!
That bamboo spear is way too thick it will hurt the pig but not penetrate enough to kill it. you could use something thinner and dry not green and your cordage is crap as well. You should also set a noose trap under it so it can´t run off.
@fullfist I fully agree with you my friend and i am looking for new music now also the way i'm going to edit my new videos are going to be different so that there is very little need for music.
