So when you get mono you get sick and clear the viruse but the antibodies are produced for life. I had mono and still test positive but I am not infected. How are we so sure that the body does not clear the infection. Just a thought

To answer your question, I believe that it could be a possibility that HIV attaches to another STD, but you have to consider that not all HIV patience have a duel diagnosis so that kind of rules that out as the only way to contract HIV... I also believe that majority of the duel diagnosis for people with HIV are common because I think its a lifestyle disease and in most cases its contracted from unprotected sex, and when people have unprotected sex its not unusual to contract other diseases...
never heard of a virus attaching to a bacteria, that usually happens to parasites like worms, or a vector like a mosquito, I just think the person who had HIV don't usually know it (because some side effects go under the radar) and then they continue to have sex and thus catching something else which leads them getting tested thus getting a dual diagnoses

@HIVchick I think it can infect people (dual diag.) who have lowered immunes systems easier than someone who doesn't-so- if someone has a cold, Ulcerative Colitis, a liver transplant, bronchitis, they are more prone to get the virus. To answer your question about HIV attaching itself to an STD, I feel it doesn't. People who get blood transfusions, shoot up, or are accidentally stuck with an infected needle are all at risk. @laurah1150 Maybe because the HIV is been directly introduced into the blood system whereas when it's sexually transmitted, it has to find a way to get into the blood system and am guessing it would be easier with the help of another STD.
You don't have to get HIV from having sex with an infected person,e.g. discordant couples, but if you get a blood transfusion with infected blood you get HIV.
Also, having an STD is a risk factor for contracting HIV. So i guess she makes sense.

I agree with her that to manage the infection, she must watch her health with care, and take the antivirals. In so doing, she will most likely live every bit as long as a person without the virus. To answer your question, I believe that it could be a possibility that HIV attaches to another STD, but you have to consider that not all HIV patience have a duel diagnosis so that kind of rules that out as the only way to contract HIV... I also believe that majority of the duel diagnosis for people with HIV are common because I think its a lifestyle disease and in most cases its contracted from unprotected sex, and when people have unprotected sex its not unusual to contract other diseases...

To answer your question about HIV attaching itself to an STD, I feel it doesn't. People who get blood transfusions, shoot up, or are accidentally stuck with an infected needle are all at risk. I feel no STD would be present in any of those situations. I just wanna say to ALL HIV and AIDS sufferers: I embrace your courage, honor your strength, and respect your tenacity. @laurah1150 Maybe because the HIV is been directly introduced into the blood system whereas when it's sexually transmitted, it has to find a way to get into the blood system and am guessing it would be easier with the help of another STD.
You don't have to get HIV from having sex with an infected person,e.g. discordant couples, but if you get a blood transfusion with infected blood you get HIV.
Also, having an STD is a risk factor for contracting HIV. So i guess she makes sense.

I agree with her that to manage the infection, she must watch her health with care, and take the antivirals. In so doing, she will most likely live every bit as long as a person without the virus. She seems to have a very good attitude about it, and this is now a disease that can be managed. I find this poster a very courageous person.

I think this monster disease is horrible. To many people have it and where do it really comes from. Back than it was'nt go here in the 1960's & 1970's. Many people had children and unprotected sex. I just hope they can find a cure to provent more people from getting it. And the ones who have it get cure and have to go on with depression and low self-esteem.

I cant relate because i have no STD's or diseases for that matter but illuminati made this to control the population they figured if they made enough sexually transmitted diseases that it would scare enough people to stop having sex or use more condoms and not get pregnant cuz a long time ago aids didnt exist it just popped up out of nowhere i dont think so :) i am sad when i hear stories like this but yall still have to live ur life so just live it and pry to god!
