Actually we do NOT need immigrants at present. There should be a two year moratorium on immigration. Halt it and re-assess how it is conducted. Shut down the southern border and go back to a measured immigration policy whereby we selectively choose the sort of immigrants we want. We don't need illiterate peasants from Latin America. We've got too many here as it is. We can be great again if we only bring in those who are a true economic/societal benefit.

@tomintroy - I believe that we as free, thinking human beings will be able to figure out a way to deal with the rapid population growth. The problem isn't the people but the kind of people. And any people who trample over others (illegals) will destroy a country no matter how many people are in it.
