I've just recently looked at it from the point of view of manipulating our ego. If we use positive affirmations to retrain the ego to think the positive about ourselves. Then the acquisition of things and circumstances to make us happy will disappear. I dunno lol I'm still a newbie only having studied about a year and a half, I just see the value of all of the teachings of everyone right now.

ur right the law of attraction can be dangerous to learn if misunderstood. its about accepting what u have now, and not letting the ego take full control of u through desire and the pain of want. if u can accept what u have now, and u know what makes u happy is from within...then u can attract more unexpectedly without the painful emotions of want. it will only be there, NOW.
