Do you have a video of them being clocked at that speed? I still have yet to see a tiger reaching 50mph. Yes tigers do rely on ambush but it is their acceleration rather than top speed which enables them to catch their prey.

Tigers have a BIG disadvantage in Africa, unless they learn to live in Packs. The major killers of Africa, Lions and Hyenas, are pack killers. the thing about speed in the video seems not right. cheetahs are much faster than ostriches over short distances (70+mph is standard). as far as i know, there are a bunch of big cats that can run in the 35-40mph range- cougars, lions, tigers. leopards, jaguars. ostriches are fast as hell, but their biggest strength is that they can sustain high speeds for long periods of time.

Tigers are not the climbers leopards are. Lions vs Tigers depends on type and gender. Tigers are not even close in terms of the speed of a cheetah. Perhaps approximately half as fast.

Due to the near extinction of tigers in their natural habitat. A man by the name of John Varty from South Africa had a vision of introducing the tiger into South Africa as part of a breeding program. They were to have their own sanctuary in the Karoo and would not come into contact with Lions. Due to a lack of funding and knowledge the program never kicked off. The tigers were also not immune to some of the disease's in Africa too. A great idea but not enough research and cash!

the thing about speed in the video seems not right. cheetahs are much faster than ostriches over short distances (70+mph is standard). as far as i know, there are a bunch of big cats that can run in the 35-40mph range- cougars, lions, tigers. leopards, jaguars. ostriches are fast as hell, but their biggest strength is that they can sustain high speeds for long periods of time.

It took a little trial and error, but this guy raised these tigers to be successful hunters, maybe a little too well. On their first official unaided hunt, the two tigers killed over six antalope in a matter of minutes before they got tired. The reserve in Africa was chosen because of the large amount of prey.

Tigers are not the climbers leopards are. Lions vs Tigers depends on type and gender. Tigers are not even close in terms of the speed of a cheetah. Perhaps approximately half as fast.

Due to the near extinction of tigers in their natural habitat. A man by the name of John Varty from South Africa had a vision of introducing the tiger into South Africa as part of a breeding program. They were to have their own sanctuary in the Karoo and would not come into contact with Lions. Due to a lack of funding and knowledge the program never kicked off. The tigers were also not immune to some of the disease's in Africa too. A great idea but not enough research and cash!

@attractivue there are no tigers in Africa....this was just an experiment done by the chinese government to see whether tigers could adapt to the african plains in order to bring them to africa and away from the parts of china and Russia where tigers are being hunted to be used in medicine etc......if the experiment does work, they wont be introducing them to areas where lions inhabit....

@attractivue It would be interesting to see how Cape buffalo and hyenas would react to a tiger. I think they would probably mistake it for a overgrown leopard and then get a hell of a surprise....since tigers can take down larger prey than lions individually...............but facing a full grown male lion in the wild would definately prove interesting.....my bet is on the male lion too......ive researched this subject for over 20 years and i think i have a good solid understanding of both

India is more towards the south. The asiatic lions(indian lions) are more towards the african side of India. They are very very rare too.

The buffalo was caught (the fight was just about to start) by a lionness and the video was quickly replaced by some shit articles about how it killed the buffalo.That small giraffe was killed by 2 lionesses not 1. As for the Giraffe video. There a 2nd Lionesses however she did virtually NOTHING. The Lioness that climbed the Giraffes neck would have killed the Giraffe, with or without the second lioness.
The Giraffe was not small. It would have weighed 10 times more then both the Lioness's.

Look at ‘Two lions take down 3t hippo’ by Lionsandme1000. 2 male Lions kill a hippo although 1 Lion does most of the work. There are a lot of videos showing only 1 or 2 Lions killing Buffalo and hippos. Lions are amazing and can kill almost anything. Alone or in a pride.

The two tigers are captive-bred Bengal tigers, who were brought to Africa and trained how to hunt and survive in the wild. I believe this may have been an attempt to teach zoo-born tigers to live on their own in the 'Africa' wild. The idea is opposed by some tiger conservationists and rightly so.

lions are quite a different animal to a tiger. Also, on size, the tsavo lions are much larger than plains lions
