360x180° Panorama Tutorial - Pt.5: Editing the Nadir

Great tutorials! I've been working on 360 picture that's very complicated and would like to edit the ceiling of a room. Do you know if there is a template to extract and insert a Roof? Thanks!!

@robertkitto Just use the templates I'm referring to in the videos, but after applying the extract_floor template, go to the "Image Parameters" tab (you may first have to switch to "Advanced mode in the first tab"...), then change the "Pitch" field from -90 to 90 and proceed as shown in the video.

Then, to re-insert, proceed again as in the video, except that after applying the template go again to the "Image Parameters" tab and change the pitch from -90 to 90...

How do panoramas look if you use a 14 mm fisheye lens?

I usually don't have any (or only very little) "self-shadow issues" because I shoot most of my panos with the "string technique" (philepod pitch variation technique, see first tutorial).

Also, in tricky situations I usually shoot a 5th image for the nadir to do away with the Peleng's flare issues and also, in cases, to remove my own shadow. This image is shot slightly offset so that if I do cast a shadow, it's in an area that is shadow-free in the other images.

Hallo Florian,

mich würde noch interessieren, wie du die Schatten wegbekommst, z.b. bei deinem Dublin Street Art Pano. Auch gestempelt (wohl eher unwahrscheinlich bei dem Bild), aufgehellt oder ganz anders?

Wäre nett von dir, wenn du da noch mal was zu sagen könntest, denn die Schatten machen mir oft am meisten Probleme.
