I thought I imagined this show as a kid. Now I know it was real. It's so corny and cheesy the way they sing the names of the presenter, the team captains and the contestants in the intro...but I love it!! 10/10
I was always amazed how dimwit the contestants were about the more interesting & lively aspects of popular culture; have not been able to forget how hopeless they were with 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' - it turned out none of them had ever heard of it.
I used to LOVE this when I was a kid and only just got reintroduced to it now!!!! OMG!!! PMSL @ 0:05 - Lionel miming how big the cock was he took last night.
0:14 Bob going for a walk. 0:20 Bernie Winters miming him in a strip club. 0:25 Bella 'the ledge' Emburg & ROFL @ 1:16 Tim's Jumper!!!!!!!! And remember kids, we're asking you, give us a clue!!!
"The show's virtuoso was, without doubt, Lionel Blair, but even he had his off days. His team mates recall their apprehension during one close-run contest when, in the dying minutes, Lionel was given Free Willy by Michael Aspel. Of course, he blew it..."
What ever happened to Eve Ferret? She was so big and juicy an' curvy. And her bubbly personality really was made for television! She should be on more often. ;-)
I remember her in Bottle Boys with Robin Askwith. She was in the film Absolute beginners. Before that she was in a cabaret act, Biddy & Eve, where she would appear scantily clad and sit on guys laps in the audience.
@MusicJunkie777 I especially dislike the Doctor Who credits now - WTF is the point of credits so fast you need stop frame playback to read? Of course the reason it's done is so they can fit in another ad, not more show - oh no.
And then there's the highly annoying tendency to have voiceovers advertising the next show as credits roll, and squeezing the credit roll so ads can show on screen for what's up next. Ugg.
And don't even get me started on TV networks placing their logo in the corner...
No conversation! Just demonstration. Is what you do. Give us a clue. Be acrobatic. Or just dramatic. Whichever's you. Give us a clue. If you're specific, you'll be terrific. We're watching you! Give us a clue. Give us a clue! Give us a clue....with Michael Parkinson, Liza Goddard and Lionel Blair......
Punch Lionel Blair? He might just put on his tap shoes and come lookin' for you to kick your brains out for saying that. Who knows, he might even bring in the heavy mob: The Beverly Sisters! Lol! Mind you, I really fancied Liza Goddard! What posh totty! :-0
lionel blair is like a poor mans bruce forsyth. I remember watching this if i was ill of school, i think it used to be on before pebble mill. great days.
Lionel Blair really was the grand master of this game. Who can ever forget opposing team captain Una Stubbs sitting open mouthed as he tried to pull off Twelve Angry Men in under two minutes!
Yeah, I just read on it, its actually a song called "Chicken Man", Grange Hill used the original version of the sing, while GUAC used an arranged version.
I just read on Wikipedia that the original opening titles for the show (when michael aspel presented it) it was the same theme music as Grange Hill, anyone know if thats true?
There's some proper 80s hairdos on show in the womens team, I bet they had to draft in extra cans of hairspray, haven't got a clue who that last one was
I used 2 wag school to watch this every morning at 9.25am!
Liza's eyes were always popping out of her head. Who the fuck's "Eve Ferrett", I recognise her from some sitcom but on wikipedia, all I can get is "Eve the killer ferret!" LOL
There was actually another that appeared before this one and was used for the final couple of series that Michael Aspel hosted and for the first few years of Michael Parkinson's run as host.
Who can forget the moment, when Lionel Blair worked himself into a frazzle, colapsing on the chairmans desk, after receiving the dirty dozen, he was still able to cope with the sting afterwards! - Humph Lyttleton
This brings back memories of me sitting at my nans and watching this with the family. I never got the clues, ha...and very rarely paid attention, but loved the opening song! Thanks for adding!
