Listen to Tinsley Ellis's version of this tune. He plays a much hotter version than any of the others listed below. They're all great but Tinsley just burns on this tune. It used to be a part of his live shows, may still be. Check him out if you like this great Otis Rush classic.
Super lesson, but waaaay too fast at the end..wtf, halfbendquarternotetenthfretdoublestoppulloff...ay carumba!! Hate to say it, but, Tabs please!! Thanks.
If you want claptons tone then buy everything he has and be a stupid clone ... what a boring boring comment you make about tone all the time ! But when you grow up you just play whatever you "like"
Great comment! The best tone I found was from a tiny fender Champ amp turned up all the way! Guitar tone turned all the way up too. Everybody should find the sound that pleases them. I like solid state amps and tube amps. Whatever works! There are tons of people today that you could say play better than Clapton, but WHO CARES! I can't play like Clapton, so I might as well be myself! I like the OLD Fleetwood Mac stuff with the two crazy frantic guitar players!
This fellow sounds, to me at least, like Santana with the tight, almost non-existant vibrato. Personally, I don't like it but each to his/her own. Nevertheless, this is still an excellent video and I thank you for making it. Gary Moore's version is, for me, the best of the available recorded bunch.
Great Educational Video....my 3 piece band started on learning this song, trying to merge the 2 guitars, bass and keyboard into 1 guitar and 1 bass. It almost worked, but, we broke up before finishing the voicings. This is one of the all time classic blues-rock songs, EVER. Just listen to the original, you'll hear 2 guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and vocals all going in different directions blending together.
Who the fuck learns the blues by heart? You should just give some licks and let people jam
