  • Great version...

  • I want to see him 'live'!!! Still not managed it yet. What a talent!

  • ♥ < Luv It :)

  • This is probably one of Francis' best songs. Love it. Thanks very much for posting the vid :D

  • Francis Dunnery Tall Blonde Helicopter UK Tour announced, check the Francis Dunnery web site for details.

  • Love Dunnery!!!!!!!

  • We're all in agreement then.Francis is a genius.

He's only second to Greg Lake if you ask me.His songs are thoughtful, passionate and moving. Not many people write like that anymore.

  • A wee bit Roddy Framish this video of Dunnery. Roddy does this kind of thing much better. I love Francis Dunnery in his 'IT BITES' mode. Thats where he is best. IMHO ofcourse. Nice bit of twiddley stuff here though.

  • The best live version of this was recorded in King Tuts In Glasgow 1996 ROCK ON Francis.

    One Night In Sauchiehall Street.

  • The best singer songwriter of ANY generation!

  • one of the best singer songwriters ever. amazing guy

  • In my opinion THE best singer songwriter of my generation. Love him.

  • Saw FD in Saratoga NY live at the Metro in the late 1980s or early 1990s, it was a great show!

  • We love the big man - and my niece has been a fan since ever - she's 9 now - wants to play like Frank. She's seen him live a couple of times - how cool is that? Good music spans all age groups - the man's a genius in my opinion - and a thoroughly nice bloke. I ove his angry music the best though...

  • best sogn ever. love francis. he is a great guy aswell, we are good mates :)

  • aaahhh i just love this guy!!! please come to norway man!!!;))

  • Simply put...if you have a chance to host or attend a house concert - do it. Our event was a smash success. Francis was, as you would imagine, gracious, humble and, most of all, entertaining. Of the 30+ people we had at the show maybe 8 or so were familiar with his work...didn't matter. Everyone had a great experience.

If you haven't heard his double album The Gulley Flats Boys...purchase and listen. GREAT work.

  • My wife and I are very excited to have Francis perform a House Concert in our home on Wednesday June 13th...we are located in Rockford, IL which is about 1.25 hours due West of Chicago, 1 hour due South of Madison, WI and 1.5 hours from Milwaukee, WI. We are limiting the attendance to ~30 people and tickets are going fast. If anyone would like to attend - please email me.

    Cheers!

  • I saw this when it debuted on TBS way back when. His playing and writing have influenced mine a great deal. This is one of the best songs I have ever heard, IMHO. Thanks for posting this. I haven't seen it in a long time! :-)

  • yeah cumbrian accent :D

  • thanks for the great post never seen this concert before wow thanks

    house concert 06.08.06 amazing

  • Well, Sandgrownun, that might just be a challenge! I live in the land where FD is currently on tour and am off to yet another house concert tomorrow! I'll have my own mid-life crisis one way or another...

  • OK heres my first guess( and I only get five ).

    America?

  • Bad luck. Only 4 to go, but he's coming home to America tomorrow!

  • errr...Australia?

  • He's English!

  • HOME!!!!!!!!!!! You wish

    Frankie is English :)

  • I don't think anyone's disputing that! Born in Egremont, Cumbria, 25 December 1962.

Brought up as an Irish Catholic though!

    And now living in Manhattan.

  • EvilCB

What if we live on different continents?

  • Great video. I've been to two House Concerts (he played Homegrown at both) and am off to another tomorrow evening. These are a totally different concert experience indeed! He's currently doing the "Mid-life Crisis" world tour of house concerts - most entertaining, a mix of songs, jokes, psychology and FD's life story. So, Sandgrownun if you host one put me down for two tickets please.

  • Don't think it's the same JB

  • Can it be the very same John Beck(It Bites & Kino) who shares the writing on some songs on Corinne Bailey Raes album?

  • I love the way he sings with his regional accent. He has absolutely no pretentions not for him that phony American drawl a la Sting etc.

  • I´ve never seen this before.Great that there are others who recognise Francis´ genious.Anybody been to one of his house concerts? We´re on a list to host one when he´s in this area again and I wondered if anybody had any experience.THANKS alanisbad.

  • I've experienced one FD house concert. Greatest night of my life....

  • Awesome performance!!!! this is the show that got me into francis!!

  • Thought I'd browse for some Frank Dunneryand I uncovered this gem! Saw him last year in Whitehaven, England and he hasn't lost any of his fire! Good on yer Frank! Thanks to alanisbad foir posting this.

  • Cheers for posting alanisbad! i saw it and recorded it when it first appeared on TV, but I don't have the tape anymore... I've been wanting to see this performance for a long time, THANK YOU for posting it
