If I had a netbook I'd want Ubuntu. But anything else desktop, nettop, or laptop hell no. Windows.

Of course you can like with any OS, as long as you have a media player which supports xvid format.

yes you can! i've tried to watch .MkV movies, and no problem. Better in a powerfull processor.

The first thing I do when I get any version of *buntu installed is open the terminal, and run the command:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras vlc

It installs flash, java, and all the codecs I ever need. :)
