The problem is that most rhinoplasty noses look the same, so it's not too hard to spot one. While I can fully understand few cases, it doesn't make the person much prettier.

It's just advertising, and it helps people really consider it when information is easily available online. Also, many surgeons advertise their services these days, so it's not uncommon. I've done a bit of research so far, and they say to go for someone who has a lot of experience (in years) and will probably charge more on average, but this is a major thing, so I wouldn't mind paying more if it meant getting a great job done. You pay for the quality and expertise.
