Loved the whole thing. I am faced with similar debates at work all the time, weather they initiate or I do. My personal favorite is the free will vs. Omnipotent god (hope I spelled that right). As for voting on who won, there is really no room for doubt. Keep on thinking and helping the world move forward
Allow me to play Devils' Advocate for a moment here, Thor...
One of your responses was that God had given us the ability to think logically about things - but is that truly the case...?
Perhaps the ability to think logically is a side-effect of eating the apple from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Before that event, we would just have been an upright critter, in the Garden, with language...
holy shit, "why would god give you a gift you are not intended to use?" this can be referred to all you're instincts you have, including the instinct to reproduce and according to the bible sexual lust is a sin. What a smart god
As a former catholic, it does require quite the set of balls to actually accept that all that has been taught to you by the people you love the most is just wrong, it hurts to know that it was a lie, but then it hurts more when they keep embracing it.
All christians seem to act this way. They ignore any evidence that contradicts their faith and claim bias from the scientific community. it's like arguing with a brick wall.
Yes, all Atheists figure out that argument by the time they're fourteen, you're responding to nothing and contributing nothing to the video's actual content, please re-frame from being an idiot.
nice job Thor, however I do think that they do need to think otherwise they won't be able to decide which minority to discriminate against next (sarcasm)
It's interesting how if you change 'the bible' with ' the Quran' it underlines the whole debate from a outside perspective, after all, the Quran is just as much nonsense as the bible! i think this guy actually realized this and that is why he hasn't responded. I elieve "ownd" is the word. Good job! :)
Of course, if one verse when reading it and presupposing that it said the earth is round (Isaiah 40:22) and more then 1 verse is saying the earth is flat (Job 38:13 - Jeremiah 16:19 - Daniel 4:11). Then of course you are logically getting at least 1 prediction right.
Great, I role a dice and 6 people all take a single number in their minds, if I throw a 4, is the person who chooses 4 then psychic?
Bible and the dice, both are win-win "predictions" (<-- which they aren't).
Bless you for taking the time to try to debate the hopeless creationists.... there is no saving most of them... they deny reality in favor of simplicity.
your videos are excellent! Thanx, I got a couple of good laughs. I bet this guy is sitting in a corner sucking his thumb, twirling his hair, and about to have an aneurism.
The oh so common claim "there are plenty of things the bible predicted/got right about the world" is one of my favorites. Even if that's true, which they can only come up with the most vague bullshit imaginable to support, they either willingly omit or are ignorant of the huge number of things the bible gets wrong. The whole idea of the bible as an authority on anything in the real world is laughable in the extreme.
Thank you Thor! You are awesome! I love how people don't know how to think and don't know how to consider an argument, so when they respond, it is completely unrelated to the argument presented. 5:30
That was pretty sweet (all four parts of this series), and I like that you're actually spouting evidence, as he almost solely relies on the Bible to refute your points.
Anyone who gets through this "debate" (your creationist friend really debates nothing) and doesn't see which side has facts to back it up - well, I don't see how it's possible.
The difference is staggeringly obvious, even here where the relevant facts are only touched on.
And why don't people like him at least proof what they write for grammer and spelling, if not for common sense?!
l particularly note the apologist constantly ducking the issue once a valid rebuttal has been made and moving on to the next point with no obvious connection. A common ploy.
In other words, he has no real answers and has to keep shifting sideways. You are the only one providing answers, which will all be ignored. In effect, you can't really win such a debate. You may as well repeatedly smack your head against the wall. Nevertheless, an interesting exchange.
Try reading more of the Bible now that you're an adult. You're atheism will be solidified! At the very least, you'll be shopping for a new god... one that isn't mentioned in the Bible.
Oh.. If you were "taught" the Bible as a child, then you didn't really learn it. For example, who told the lie in the garden of Eden? If you think it was the serpent, then you're stuck with the message packaged in modern Sunday schools.
NonStampCollection has AWESOME vids on what the Bible REALLY says!!
hogtiechamp: Someone at work whipped out a bible quote and I asked that he look up that Ezekiel 4:1-15 verse. I didn't say what it was and I was tempted to send him to NonStampCollector's page yet I didn't want HR crying about it. Today he came back and said it was probably a bad translation.
Ha ha ha ha!! I love Ezekiel chapter 4! Yeah, I think NonStampCollector did an earlier vid on it... Not as refined as his newer stuff, but damned funny!
And there's no mistranslation about it. Ezekiel had to lie on one side, eat only a weird loaf made of grains and beans cooked over human shit!
DO NOT let him tell you it's a "parable." (If he does, tell him he doesn't know what "parable" means.) This is the account of Ezekiel, so either it's TRUE or it's a FABLE.
I have not came across NonStampCollector before, thanks for mentioning him. I just watched his "Jephthah (Judges 11)" video, very good stuff. I can not believe I have not come across him before.

It took you several weeks to respond and now I haven't got time for your nonsense.
2/3 of your entire message was incoherent babbling and the other 1/3 made no sense at all.

It took me exactly ONE week to respond.
Incoherent babbling?? Yeah right!
Take as long as you need to respond I am just reminding you

Science doesn't have to disprove God. Theists have to prove God. It is their dilema, not ours.

Re-frame, hahaha. Sorry mate, but if you want to insult people and not be teased, try to shoot yourself in the foot a little less blatantly...

That's Refrain. 1 word, spelled differently.
Onodera was merely making a statement, not hanging up a Re- Framed picture.
Please refrain from being an idiot.

Actually i suggest all schools hold off on teaching the bible untill at least the 11th grade, maybe the 12.
This way, They might have some Critical thinking skills, If this happens the bible will turn into a Conversion mechanism for Atheism really.
