I bought my first clay today but not even sure if its good for throwing on a wheel (im a beginner). It's Amaco brand...Moist Pottery Clay X-15, talc-free. "A natural gray clay in moist form that fires to a light buff". Thats all the box says, so i dont' even know if this is ok for a wheel, or just sculpting or what. I need help (obviously) =) Thanks!
Icyrails12, did you ever find help? I am in the same position. I dont know what kind of clay, or how long to fire it. please help if you are able. Its for my daughter.
In college we are using red and white clay, I had no idea there was all the other ones.

Not very helpful in my opinion. I have not started yet but am trying to pick up some info on you tube.
You have 4-5 kinds of clay. The first 2, are they high or low firing? Or do they dry at room temp?
What about the last 2, do they have "grog" in them? You reviewed them differently as in 2 diff groups.
Reply? thanks.
