PPS I have to say, wow! This is a whole new side of Glenn Beck... he actually seriously interviews the guy and seems to be quite intelligent and he seems to have a serious understandig of the problems concerning capitalism. I never knew much about the guy but have to admid I did not have much respect for him. But he actually seemed pretty serious and not at all bad in this interview. Might just be the good influence Ron Paul has on people, but still.
So funny to hear Glenn Beck turn around and listen to Ron Paul. If you were wrong on him concerning economics, you could be wrong on foreign policy Beck.

Glenn Beck is a failed actor. He appeared as an extra in shows like Cheers, etc. He's an actor turned into politics to get a steady job. He's an Israeli / Zionist agent for the NWO. Don't trust Glenn Beck.
@obambicom LOL Glen is a christian zionist like many in the US. That Z word is the dirtiest thing that has ever happened to america. But I see a renewed hope with millions of young people supporting Dr. Paul and that is encouraging. They probably wont let Paul win, it is obvious they want Obama to stay another 4 because they keep pushing Romney into our faces and he's truly a flip flopping lying liberal and Obama will destroy him.
Of course we have freedom, but some people should have more freedom then others!
If Ron Paul and his libertarian cronies have their way, Corporations will be those 'people.' How can you support the 'rights' of monopolies and corporations coming before your own?
Too bad Beck has proven himself to be just another cog in the establishment machine ...
Now that it's time for voting to begin he has started attacking Paul just like he did during the last election.
Paul's supporters are PASSIONATE simply because he is the ONLY candidate who has PROVEN he will be faithful to uphold his oath of office to the greatest safeguard this country has to protecting our liberties and way of life .. namely the Constitution of the United States.
I am not a GB fan, and that's putting it VERY lightly. However, I find him to give a good interview when he closes his mouth and stops calling Obama Hitler for 5 minutes. I especially like the discussion about moral and virtuous people with the wealth. We have greedy and corrupted people with the wealth in this country. Watch the $100,000,000 penny video on here. While you do, consider there are people that have billions of dollars of wealth and still want more. Others don't have a penny.
Warren Buffet is a monster. He did indeed benefit tremendously from Govt policies that he played a big role in influencing. Buffet is NOT an innocent guy. Most people don't know that. Bill Gates isn't totally innocent either. Soros?.. he is one of the biggest monsters and should've been slayed' many years ago.
one problem we have is that we need to re manufacture our nuclear weapons. Our weapons of deterrence are aging. The lifetime of a plutonium based weapon is not that long. We need to start rebuilding the weapons that defend our country. I don't think we need more of them but we need to keep the ones we have and upgrade them with current technology.
@MRCORNEJOCASTELFORTE He needs to cut his responses shorter, they're much longer than one sentence, more like speeches. I'm saying this for his sake, because people often don't have a long attention span, especially at home, who you're trying to connect with. I think he can find ways to compact his messages. Glenn Beck let him finish, but you could see that even he was getting agitated with the long responses. I think he wanted to ask more questions with the time they had.
Ron Paul for President but Obama is not a real Socialist, if Obama was I would be voting for Obama but he's a right wing statist Corporatist like the rest of the GOP except Paul.
government is trying to own EVERYTHING - what a communist country would do, like the Soviet Union. They collapsed because they went bankrupt. btw, communism can be thrown in the garbage.
PS I study philosophy, so I know something about marxist philosophy. But this does not mean that I agree with any of its principles. But neither will I allow for anybody to mold the definition of words in order for it to suit there political agenda better.
@Eye2EyeIIIV The second way was through what Marx called communisml; through a coup or takeover of a dictatorship in the name of the lower classes create etc. The latter is what they tried in Russia. The former, the socialist approach is the approach that many left wing groups and political parties now a days attempt. I hope you now have a better understanding of the meanings of certain words that are related to the marxist philosophy.
@Eye2EyeIIIV So Marx pointed out two ways for people to actively contribute to the accomplishment of this working class utopia, the first way he called socialism, through democratic means slowly changing the system and the awareness of the working class. Therefore the main proponent of this approach is enlightenment of the lower classes and then through democratic means effect slow changes towards the end of capitalism and the start of the working class utopia.
@Eye2EyeIIIV But this was a process in the development of human societys, not something anybody or any group could achieve. Naturally this was a bit of a dissapointment for the people on the "left" side of the social question.
@Eye2EyeIIIV You are clearly playing with words who's meaning you appearently do not understand. Communism and socialism are both words that are derived from Marxist philosophy. In that philosophy capitalism is a usefull system for a society to go through, but Marx tried merely to show that it was a unsustainable system which according to him would neccesarily be followed by communism, the working class utopia.
I'd rather have someone that I can democratically segregate from any position in power own the responsiblity of my health-care than some greedy-ass corporation that knows and cares nothing about medical superficiality.
And since when does Education and Health Care count as 'Everything'? Have they taken your home and company yet?
But one point that seems a bit difficult, if Obama was a real socialist, he would still be, or maybe even more so, be in direct opposition to Dr. Ron Paul. So how do you bring these two view points together? Vote for a "real" socialist if there where any, and if not, vorte for Ron Paul? You see the schism that seems to be there?
True that. That's why the majority of his first 'Jobs Bill' was just a b***s**t bill designed to enable the wealthy while not actually creating any jobs.
@Eye2EyeIIIV He's no where near socialist, maybe 'american socialist' but not real a socialist. Also why is socialism so bad anyway, lots of countries use a mixture of socialism and capitalism, america is the only country that still has an almost pure capitalist system
no offense, but if you read any history book, you'll find that yes socialism is bad. obama's policies are socialist and are doing NO good for america - that's why millions of people are making SURE he's a one-term president.
If I read American history books. I live in Britain and support Labour, our socialist party and they do genuine good in our country. Obama to the rest of the world is a conservative going towards almost fascism, he is only socialist in American eyes (especially from fox news viewers) and it is to mist of the world not reality to say he is socialist
@GarveysBrother Obama is not a conservative by American standards, by European standards he certainly is, I will vehemently oppose socialism whether it is is just moderate Obama socialism or the hard line democratic socialism found in Europe.
@GarveysBrother We aren't even a pure capitalist system. Pure Capitalism sees the economy free of government interference. Government interference is whats creating our system of corporatism Corporatism is what we have here. .
@GarveysBrother Your a fucking idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a brainwashed dickhead motherfucking genuine idiot....and I live in england. You can go fuck yourself, asswhipe.
definitally, my parents are agaisnt him because of giving Nukes to Iran, I really don't care because I have a pretty horrible record and I can't get a job, I wish we would just focus on cleaning up America instead of worrying so much about foriegn affairs, we can still be defensive and not occupy other countries..well as much as we are
most elitist r stupid idiots.. or they r being corrupted by some people who threaten them or something because this idiotic shit is a joke.. and no one can prove dr. ron paul wrong.
ron paul is 100% right.. i have discussed this with my parents way before ron paul has said this. the banks are not going out of business when they should and they are not earning their money the right way. The banks are corrupted with bad investments in people who cant afford a house or hold a job... which in return raise the interest rates of the middle class and the rich... these banks have way to much power but a loaning agency must be in place and must be harder to get and closely watched.
@jakeg0034 If you support regulations on banks, then why are you supporting Ron Paul? Ron Paul is strongly against regulating the banks or any other type of business.
@echatterwa hes not perfect and if the banks start giving out crazy interest rates ill will just not pay them. then maybe they will understand u cant rip me off. even tho they alrdy are.... not everything is perfect but the banks r fucking retarded.
@wuffleballer23 Well, the American people are more misrepresented, bombarded, fed disinformation, and propagandized than any other people in the world. They have the near universal hate of the entire world aimed at them thanks to the drunken, foolish, irresponsible nature of their government, and Ron Paul is a product of growing up in this country. Homegrown Hero, and if he gets into office, maybe the people will start to get some of the control back. I ask other nations to pray for us, please
Even when there's a facist totalitarian regime in this country and there's a secret police incarcerating people for speaking out against the government Americans will still be convinced that it's for their own safety.
I lost my faith in this country when I was 9, soon as I saw all the bush/neocon terrorism shit something immediately hit me..."something's not right here"...
10 years later it's all unfolded, and now we're looking for an excuse (Iran) to become even more totalitarian...
Say what you will about Glenn Beck, but he shuts up and listens when his guest is speaking, unlike O'Reilly. And he did actually have a very good question for Ron at the end. I know everybody hates him, but Glenn Beck had a few redeeming moments like this one.
@Flayertim agreed! for once I actually felt bad for him because Dr. Paul was speaking over him so much...needless to say, usually my feelings are the other way around
@Flayertim That's what I like about him too - and there one more point: He talks freely about how his opinion changed over time, his attitude towards Paul is the best example. There's few public figures who appear honest and modest in that regard.
So you now don't think he is nuts? What does that say about you Glenn Beck all along? You are the one that has (supposedly) had an epiphany, while Ron Paul has been the same since joining public life in the early seventies. Where were you then? Laying on the floor somewhere drunk. You are a joke.
Ron Paul is in good position for the V.P. spot on the Republican ticket......as 3rd party candidate he is pulling to much damage to the GOP........hey some questions answer themselves.......Go Ron get the libertarian voice out.......
One problem here...Warren Buffet and Gates are tied to Bilderbergs and Soros....Buffet is Obama's guy and oversaw the bank bailouts, in which he profitted greatly. Ron Paul has to know this if he's gonna be president.....(someone please bring this to Beck's attention. Thanks)
The Bill of Rights does not contain a list of rights that are given to the American people by the government. Instead it provides a list of the rights that are inherently ours, and they can’t be taken away by the government. M Connelly 2011
No more progressives. We love liberty. Stand with Dr Paul and the Constitution of the USA
Lets put a man with the integrity of a great statesman in office...one who cannot be purchased or bullied...Ron Paul 2012!
4:26 Ron TOTALLY dodged that question! In the midst of irrelevant anti-corporatist dribble he managed to admit that his idea of a completely free market fully depended on the morality of the elites. And we all know, from being human, that human beings sometimes find it hard to be moral rather than greedy, so please, let's abolish this silly idea that we, as a people, are able to cope in a blissful society of trust and complete freedom. IT'S PURE BULLSHIT!
@leirgauk Please watch Milton Friedman Antitrust on youtube. You will see how Ron Paul's position is the most sensible. There were only 2 monopolies that existed in the history of the United States without government intervention.
@bartek4443 I agree that it's theoretically easier to compete in a market with no regulation and corporatism, but even with widespread effective competition, it's still easy to find ways where harmful business tactics are more profitable than providing the best service. Not to mention advertisement - manipulation of demand. Today, it's barely regulated. Just imagine what no regulation would do. We would inevitably end up with a world where 25% of the population were telemarketers.
@leirgauk The business world as we know it has dramatically changed from the "big-box" businesses of the past. Previously, if a company acted unethically, such as ripping someone off, only a few people who knew the individual would know. Know, with social media, you can post a video on youtube or a post on facebook/twitter and the whole world knows about it. Social media has effectively revolutionized business and you can see how influential good business ethics are (e.g. Zappos vs. Amazon).
ron paul seems like such a nice guy. its crazy when their on screen together. How much I like ron paul is perfectly matched by my twisted hate for that piece of shit glenn beck. and he was suicidal at one point.... that was a good idea beck. you should revisit it ASAP.
Nah... hes just a bought and paid for centrist emo sob. Ron Paul FTW!
He knows what hes doing... Supporting Obamacare prototype authors, former Al Gore Campaign advisors, and previous Kansas Federal Reserve Chairmen. Glenn loves Fiat Currency and perpetual worldwide debt just by extension of his "picks", he gets kick back.
The only time I listen to him is when he talks trash about the current administration.
@2014akshay Glenn does though. He and his staff recently mocked and mischaracterized Ron Paul's positions, and then Glenn went on to profess Ron Paul's actual positions as Glenn's own. It was bizarre.
vote america get this man as your leader if you don't you get what you deserve . you are Israel's bitch and your to stupid they are pushing you into world war 3 open your eyes .
We need more taxes on corporations, people making over $300 K, and a cut on some entitlements. Then we need cut government waste. Strip it down. The US will be back on track. I agree mostly with Ron Paul.
Yea he has, that's why he made that statement. This is a worse economy than the depression because it's coming to hyper inflation- cost of living goes up but not people's wages. The depression was a lack of employment and a debt because of a lack of industry. This debt and crisis is brought about by both of those things and the printing of money, backed by nothing and a second debt on top of the lack of industry debt that comes from over spending and destroys our currency.
The Fed "have no idea what their doing"? Glenn has no idea what the Fed is doing! There methods are ancient. They are geniuses. That's the problem. They have destroyed our democracy. It goes far beyond just the Fed Reserve. Our politicians no longer represent the %99. The second shoe will drop soon.
Beck's question at 5:30 and the exchange from 4:30 till the end is a legit concern. We have huge companies in this country that have become so powerful under the quasi-fascist system over the last 100 years. If the US went back to pure free-market, I would be afraid those dozen of so large companies would have a more authoritative rule over the consumers.
@hokieneer17 We don't know what happens in a free market when a so called 'monopoly' happens, because the gov't has always interfered. If a business can provide a better product cheaper, it deserves to be #1 - anti-trust is just an extension of wealth-redistribution aka socialism. We've had anti-trust laws for well over 100 years.
Businesses want to please consumers with their product. Competition makes this 'abuse' a non issue.
Supply and demand, can even attribute f = ma here.
Competition aka Capitalism means everyone wins : business thrives, consumers get the best products at the cheapest prices(due to competititon, businesses want to be able to undercut to sell more than the next company) and the best employment opportunities are available to the jobless.
People need to be educated on how our country works - when I was in school 10 years ago, my educators purported America to be a Democracy, where people pass laws by majority vote. Very little Constitution reading.
I cannot believe how ignorant everyone is. I'm a fan of Ron Paul, but I have to feel the frustration of Glenn Beck here. It felt like Ron Paul talked for hours and everything after the first few sentences was just run on. Glenn Beck asked very good questions, and I don't even think Glenn beck was being hostile.

I never knew much about the guy but have to admid I did not have much respect for him. But he actually seemed pretty serious and not at all bad in this interview. Might just be the good influence Ron Paul has on people, but still.

Others don't have a penny.

one problem we have is that we need to re manufacture our nuclear weapons.

PS I study philosophy, so I know something about marxist philosophy. But this does not mean that I agree with any of its principles. But neither will I allow for anybody to mold the definition of words in order for it to suit there political agenda better.
Amsterdamned33 1 month ago
@Eye2EyeIIIV The second way was through what Marx called communisml; through a coup or takeover of a dictatorship in the name of the lower classes create etc. The latter is what they tried in Russia. The former, the socialist approach is the approach that many left wing groups and political parties now a days attempt. I hope you now have a better understanding of the meanings of certain words that are related to the marxist philosophy.
With friendly greetings from Amsterdam
Amsterdamned33 1 month ago
@Eye2EyeIIIV So Marx pointed out two ways for people to actively contribute to the accomplishment of this working class utopia, the first way he called socialism, through democratic means slowly changing the system and the awareness of the working class. Therefore the main proponent of this approach is enlightenment of the lower classes and then through democratic means effect slow changes towards the end of capitalism and the start of the working class utopia.
Amsterdamned33 1 month ago
@Eye2EyeIIIV But this was a process in the development of human societys, not something anybody or any group could achieve. Naturally this was a bit of a dissapointment for the people on the "left" side of the social question.
Amsterdamned33 1 month ago
@Eye2EyeIIIV You are clearly playing with words who's meaning you appearently do not understand. Communism and socialism are both words that are derived from Marxist philosophy. In that philosophy capitalism is a usefull system for a society to go through, but Marx tried merely to show that it was a unsustainable system which according to him would neccesarily be followed by communism, the working class utopia.
Amsterdamned33 1 month ago

@aeris2001 Well said!
Amsterdamned33 1 month ago

True that. That's why the majority of his first 'Jobs Bill' was just a b***s**t bill designed to enable the wealthy while not actually creating any jobs.
bwzamie 1 month ago
@Eye2EyeIIIV He's no where near socialist, maybe 'american socialist' but not real a socialist. Also why is socialism so bad anyway, lots of countries use a mixture of socialism and capitalism, america is the only country that still has an almost pure capitalist system
GarveysBrother 1 month ago
@GarveysBrother
no offense, but if you read any history book, you'll find that yes socialism is bad. obama's policies are socialist and are doing NO good for america - that's why millions of people are making SURE he's a one-term president.

@Eye2EyeIIIV
If I read American history books. I live in Britain and support Labour, our socialist party and they do genuine good in our country. ron paul is 100% right.. i have discussed this with my parents way before ron paul has said this. the banks are not going out of business when they should and they are not earning their money the right way. The banks are corrupted with bad investments in people who cant afford a house or hold a job... which in return raise the interest rates of the middle class and the rich... these banks have way to much power but a loaning agency must be in place and must be harder to get and closely watched.

IT'S PURE BULLSHIT!
leirgauk 3 months ago
@leirgauk Please watch Milton Friedman Antitrust on youtube. You will see how Ron Paul's position is the most sensible. There were only 2 monopolies that existed in the history of the United States without government intervention.
bartek4443 3 months ago
@bartek4443 I agree that it's theoretically easier to compete in a market with no regulation and corporatism, but even with widespread effective competition, it's still easy to find ways where harmful business tactics are more profitable than providing the best service. Not to mention advertisement - manipulation of demand. Today, it's barely regulated. Just imagine what no regulation would do. We would inevitably end up with a world where 25% of the population were telemarketers.
leirgauk 3 months ago
@leirgauk The business world as we know it has dramatically changed from the "big-box" businesses of the past. Previously, if a company acted unethically, such as ripping someone off, only a few people who knew the individual would know. Know, with social media, you can post a video on youtube or a post on facebook/twitter and the whole world knows about it. Social media has effectively revolutionized business and you can see how influential good business ethics are (e.g. Zappos vs. Amazon).

DemonGinger123 4 months ago
Beck's question at 5:30 and the exchange from 4:30 till the end is a legit concern. We have huge companies in this country that have become so powerful under the quasi-fascist system over the last 100 years. If the US went back to pure free-market, I would be afraid those dozen of so large companies would have a more authoritative rule over the consumers.
hokieneer17 4 months ago
@hokieneer17 We don't know what happens in a free market when a so called 'monopoly' happens, because the gov't has always interfered. If a business can provide a better product cheaper, it deserves to be #1 - anti-trust is just an extension of wealth-redistribution aka socialism. We've had anti-trust laws for well over 100 years.
Businesses want to please consumers with their product. Competition makes this 'abuse' a non issue.
Supply and demand, can even attribute f = ma here.
Spardeous 4 months ago
Competition aka Capitalism means everyone wins : business thrives, consumers get the best products at the cheapest prices(due to competititon, businesses want to be able to undercut to sell more than the next company) and the best employment opportunities are available to the jobless.
People need to be educated on how our country works - when I was in school 10 years ago, my educators purported America to be a Democracy, where people pass laws by majority vote. Very little Constitution reading.
