  • Inspiring!

  • Parabéns pelo talento, essa musica é a mais linda que ja ouvi

  • würstchen!

  • brilliant

    makes me cry

  • That.. is reallyyyy awesome!

  • outstanding arrangement...I just wish it was played on a nylon string. Steel string fingerpicking always sounds scratchy to me...even though the amount of tone control exhibited here is outstanding. I tried playing this on my nylon and it's difficult to finger the intro on the wider neck...but you've inspired me. Thanks!

  • beautiful!

  • Master Version....looks like it is so difficult to play.

  • The best solo guitar playing Scarborough Fare I've ever heard so far...... ........Well done...Respect !

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • very nice

  • awesome version,,, beautiful,,,,,

  • He used to play with our band. My husband was listening to tapes we made and was saying, "boy he was better than I even knew then". We've wondered what happened to him...hey Steve! We're in Southern Calif...where are you? I'll look you up on facebook.

  • I have never come across Scarborough Fair done so well solo

  • WOW, BEAUTIFUL!

    KOOOOOOOL!

  • super wahhhhhhhhhhhh genial magnifique.

  • tabs please ahahahahahhaahhaa

  • Now that is talent, why isn't this man on the top 40??

  • Wow, that was fantastic!

  • I am not worthy *worships*

  • What's the name of the painting behind him at the end? LOL Just kidding. I was amazed that he didn't even use a capo on this. He played in my city on a Taylor guitar clinic and I showed up not having heard of him and just sat there with my mouth open in amazement how well he played. does anyone have a vid of him doing 'Penny Lane' by the beatles? I couldn't believe he was playing all of the trumpet parts at the end along with the bass, vocals, harmony etc. and can't find it on Youtube.

  • The painting behind him is of a mansion in Baji Israel, an important location in the history of the religion he belongs to. Phenomenal arrangement and playing.

  • so beautiful ! God Bless you .

    Namaste .

  • Supurb!! Definately one of my favorites, another famous Steven King

  • FUCKING AMAZING

  • Wow.

  • Jesus... and how long have you been playing acoustic for?

  • Wow, I am simply blown away by this. Scarborough Fair and Canticel played by one person, on an acoustic! Very well done Mr. King, congrat's on becoming such an amazing player, sir.

  • difficult to play it without a capo. so thats great

  • Whoa ~ Great arrangement, great playing - 5 stars! That's probably the best all-around version I've heard yet. It follows the Simon & Garfunkel version pretty much spot-on. (I always thought their version was done with Paul Simon using a capo on the 7th fret...?) Anyway, thanks for pointing this video out to me. It made my evening! What a great talent you have. All the best to you. Peace ~ Bruce

  • "just use a fucking capo!.....oh....aah,i understand now"

  • this is very very great. but i wonder - is the Steven King - your real name? Your deserve your own, unique name)

  • The author's name is Stephen King... not Steven King. ;-)

  • braddah,

    you jam.

    cheeehuuu

  • Thats why Taylors are the best guitar around. Listen to that tone.

  • So pretty!! perfect!!

  • I saw this cat at Uptown Music fingerstyle clinic when I was 14. Try catching him live sometime. He's of the highest caliber. Great technician and player.

  • oh, what a wonderful interpretation and arrangement ! I should have found and watched THIS video before i played my version on accordion. This is absolutely first choice, especially the chords at the ending.

    A "must be": 5*****

  • genial

  • Haha, indeed a king.

  • Great! You are the KING!

  • nice and clear ;)

  • Yesterday I went to Steven's website and bought this arrangement. It comes in standard notation, TAB also along with suggested fingering. Highly recommended. It's an excellent product. I received mine in PDF format but there are other options available.

  • I love the way this guy chooses the most unplayable key in which to perform this song...just for the Hell of it. He's the original fucking gangster!!

  • I think it's good key for this type of tune. Dmaj or Bm (whatever you want to call it) is a very "warm" sounding key to my ears. This key allows him to use a bunch of open strings as well.

You are right about him being a Ninja. The guy is one hell of a player.

  • It's actually in e dorian.

  • quite right ev2256

  • BRAVO

  • Melody, accompaniment and harmony -- ALL IN ONE! Superb musicianship. Bravo!

  • This was really quite pleasant.

    Peter.

  • absolutely beautiful. i didnt think it was possible to interpret the song this way. thanks for proving me wrong^^

  • 5/5 for sure =)

  • brilliant mate is there any chance for the tabs much appreciated . good luck

  • Absolutely Marvellous:)

  • Amazing!!!

  • Wow! Amazing that you worked Canticle in there as well. That's a lot of work. Nicely done!

    King of guitar indeed...

    5 Stars!!!

  • it's because he's godly and knows the fretboard like the back of his hand

  • Epic and I love your books too. :-)

  • Best, most serene version of this song I've ever heard. Amazing performance. If there was a button for ten stars, you'd definitely get it.

  • wow! people love different styles of this song......but this guy is very and i mean ...very good at this song.

  • very well done ...i think i love the guy.

  • awesome.

  • wonderfully done!!

  • grandioso

  • amazing

  • Lovely! Excellent technique

I'll have to work hard on this one..

  • Truly stunning, what a very talented man, brings back memories of Simon and Garfunkel, still have this on LP!

    Jane Somerset.

  • Mr. King is truely fine guitarist.

Anyone who is trying to learn how to be just as fine a guitarist, should make it a point to study, study, his style and technique, as much as possible. Even if you're a flat picker, you could stand to learn quite a bit.

I've been playing and teaching guitar for many years myself, but I use my time at youtube to study music from the many fine musicians here.

You'll be one of the best if you study from the best. Great job Steven. Peace.

  • Good job!

  • Wow...thats amazing

  • great performance... thanks

  • Absolutely amazing!!! Better than the original.

  • this has a built-in capo and a two guitar orchestra

  • Hadn't you guys heard of this guy? He was a finger style champ from Winfield Kansas. Last time I talked to him, he said that he did had about 2000 songs like this in his repator. He's a pro of pros.

  • Amazing!!

    Thank's!

    Hagai

  • Find a friend as good as you, play in harmony together and perhaps the stones themselves may weep.

  • Wow, you have got to be the best steel string guitarist I know of!!! This is amazing! I wish I could play half as well as you!! It's really really good music! Thanks for posting it. JB

  • Really Nice :) can't imagine i would be able to play that for some time :p

  • I smiled all the way through - whole chord harmonics and no capo - utterly brilliant!

I'm good, this guy is great!

  • I give this man 10 stars and as A musician of 25 years I can say "a fine job"
