I keep coming back to your great covers and can't get enough of them, man!! Hope you'r still drumming, because in my opinion you are one of the great, few guys, who show some things, hard to get otherwise in the detail. And one of the very best drumming on YouTube. And thank you, for those little details, you show. I learned more about this amazing music and musicianship of Jeff Porcaro. Because how many drummers do we know, that stand out over others so much and are such a complete musicians?
Thank you so much! I completely agree. One interpretation among all of his that can cause me tears in the eyes is Song for Jeff (candyman), you may know it. My drumming must improve...the subdivision is not smooth enough...but thanks anyway!
you know , i love TOTO , and i love this song. I'm trying to learn it myself (oh yeah , i got the scores)... i can play 'Rosanna' , 'Hold The Line' and 'Stop Loving You' too. But you are the creator of 1 of the best drum vids ever (i guess :P)
Yes, it's an incredible song... ToTo is an ovni band in the rock industry. Steven Lee Lukather is the man, and Jeffrey Procaro was a model for all drummers. Incredible musicality... as Simmon Phillips. You are a very very good drummer, with fine technique and very good feel... thank you for this.
Wow, i got this comment late! Toto is one of a kind, no doubt. However...I just have sooo much to improve...and almost no time to accomplish my "studies"!
Thank you so much! You'll be surprised to hear that it's late Jeff Porcaro on the studio track! Even though it could be a bit of a Simon Phillips composition hehehe.
I guess I played the backbeats too loose at the time, what makes the ghost notes too loud.
My groove can be soooo much improved on this one...thank you anyway!

Thank you so much for those words. I think the track is impressive, both technically and musically.
Stop loving you has a great great groove as well.

Yes, the guitar solo in the slow middle part almost seems a good bye from Jeff. It's emotive!

but what about the snare-ghost notes?
Does Simon play them in the studio version?
I only have a live disc here...
But anyway.
This song is reeeealy cool and not easy.
Congrats - you did it (very well;))!! :)

Thank you so much! I tried my best, but I made a lot of backbeat accuracy mistakes. Well ,the video made me notice that and work on it!
Thank you for the nice critique!

I tried my best back then...but some backbeats were delaying. Now I try to pay closer atention to this. I know I'll never match Jeff anyway...
Take care!;)
