Try the nice dictonairy there is always a lot of great words in it like the famous "venom" or the "Revenge" maybe its best to take words that sound just great cuz the fact the word itself is tottally cool and sound dark enough itself ^^

All this applies as well to poets/writers,I also carry a moleskin around.Writing after sleep reminds also of automatism as many artists in the surrealist movement claimed that art is created by the unconcious which reminds us of Romantic poets claiming it to all be based on spontaneous emotions and obviously could bring us as will over to Freud and the 'it'.I can only recommend having a look at art/literature critical theories about how and why it is created
