@dc5kid being white or hawaiian has nothing to do with your love and respect for the aina braddah. either way burning chemicals this close to a residential area is not healthy for the aina. if you really one hawaiian then you know about malama the aina braddah. better go back to hawaiian studies and learn about the hawaiian ways brah. guarantee a true hawaiian wouldent like chemical smothered fields burning releasing toxic gasses like carbon monoxide and carcinogens into the land.
@mauipalmandtreecare yeah i know that but i call any one "haole" who thinks like you about burning cane regardless if they are or not. Im half my self but this has nothing to do with it any way. I respect the land 100% , let me ask you this what would you rather see cane or houses ? also what "chemicals" are being burnt ? They spray very little and only during the first few months of the cane being grown when its still young to control weeds. Do you drive a car ? you also release CO by the ton
@dc5kid The EPA issued results of a study done in 1986 in Hawaii finding the following toxic chemicals in cane smoke, phenol, toluene, naphthalene, the benzene group, and hydrazines.
All five are listed in the 1990 Clean Air Act as the most dangerous hazardous air pollutants, along with 30 other toxic chemicals. When the EPA turned regulation of open air burning over to the state, it let the fox rule the henhouse. nasty shit you dont wanna fuck with gets burnt everyday.
lol at chemical laden field , Guarantee you just another haole complaining about the cane being burnt.
