@heapner He did an ok Job ..But he was no Steve Perry.But then for me no one can.. I am a true Perry Fan. It is the same as Ronnie Mcdowell singing Elvis .The voices are so distinct that no one can nor should try to be them.IMO

I think they all used each other. Steve Perry was used because he had that golden voice that could sell records. Jon Cain was used because he could be the bad guy when the situation called for it. Herbie Herbert used everyone (except Neil Schon) under the guise of being a "hippie" so he could make himself rich. (Read two interviews Herbert has done. They're available online.) Typical show business dynamics.

Got mad when Neal said "I called people that wanted to work" implying that Steve didn't want to work, which was not the case at all. He could NOT work. There's a big difference. If only they had heeded to Steve's suggestion of going on doing whatever but leave Journey alone, they could have made it work. I don't even follow the new group of Journey, there was & will only be one true Journey!

It is a fact that Journey had more hits and a bigger fanbase when Steve Perry was lead singer.

@eljay345 I agree completely. Jonathan Cain came in right before "Escape". Before that he was with the Baby's. There had been a Journey before Jonathan Cain, so it's a good thing nothing happened to him, or he would have been replaced also. But who would Neil Schon have to deliver the bad news?

There is a huge difference in Jonathan Cain when he's interviewed by himself and with Neal Schon. He praises Steve Perry when interviewed alone but when he's interviewed with Neal he degrades Steve just like Neal does because in my opinion that's what he thinks Neal expects him to do.

I've never heard Steve Perry say an unkind word about Herbie Herbert or any of the current or former members of that band.

@thisislandearth Neal would most probably manipulate Arnel into delivering the ''bad news'' to Jonathan.

Arnel Pineda would most probaby do anything for Neal because he's the one who saw his video on YouTube and brought him to the USA and out of poverty!!!

There's an interview I've seen where Arnel keeps looking at Neal like he's scared of saying the wrong thing. Neal actually answers certain questions for Arnel.He treats him like a child who can't answer for himself.

In my opinion Steve Perry's singing voice got better with age.

His raspy/husky voice on One More is amazing.
