  • Just ordered it a few hours ago, should be here Tues. I can smell it already. LOL

  • Thank You very much, I hope I don't let my 3 Electric guitars become orphans. LOL

  • @hawg427

The HD-28 is that good, so it just might happen! :)

  • YEP. I did some thinking about the V neck & I decided to do what was preached to me in H.S. Go with your original answer. In this case my plan was a HD-28 so I guess I'm going to do that. Especially since I could not find a HD-28V within 2 hours of me:-(

  • @hawg427

You´ll be very well off with a HD-28 :) Congratulations on your choice, it will give you hours and hours of musical joy!

  • I had a friend at church that had a vintage Tele with a VU shape neck and he sold it because it hut his carpal tunnel in his Left hand. I think the Martin Eric Clapton Model is a V shape also. I need to save up some more cash to get the V model. One good thing is that Jon from MFG will always let you return it if it doesn't fit you well :-)

  • @hawg427

Yep, the 000-28EC has a modified V-neck. Some like the V-neck and some don´t, best if you try it for yourself :)

Jon is the best, I have ordered both a Martin and a Taylor from him and both deals have been flawless.

  • Somebody wrote a comment that the V neck was wider than the lou profile on the HD-28. You would think a V would be smaller being that the V part sits in your hand deeper. LOL . I'll see if there's one locally.

  • @hawg427

The V neck on the HD-28V has the exact same width as the low profile neck on the HD-28, but like you say; the V neck is shaped like a V, and the low profile more like an U.

Check it out and A/B it against other good guitars. This is one of the more consistent Martin models, so it´s difficult to find a bad one. Good luck.

  • Did it take you long to get used to the neck? How about the loudness compared to the HD-28? Great tone & playing.

  • @hawg427

Thanks! The neck felt comfortable at once, didn´t need much getting used to from my part. This is the loudest guitar I´ve ever played, including the HD-28. The HD-28V is also the best sounding guitar I´ve ever played, so I highly recommend it

  • Thank you! I´ve got my "guitar-face" on :-P

  • such an awesome guitar man!!! do you ever blink by the way?
