Obama's Democrats are actually to the RIGHT of the Tories on things like capital punishment and gun control. The NDP's position on Afghanistan isn't gonna win fans in Obama's government. Obama has strong financial ties to the private healthcare industry, as well.

sure obama's popular. I would have voted for him (cos he certainly better than McCain), if I were US citizen. However, he knows how to make big promises, but can he fulfill them??? Giving money to businesses is slash/burn sol'n, but it'll never fix the problem long term. He came right now. Today is February 19,2009. Conservative party in Canada is different then the Conservative party in US. We are much more open minded people. You can be conservative and like Obama at the same time. There is one thing I did nto like about Obama is that he freed the law on Abortion. He made it even easier for women to performe their own abortion at home by themselves!
