by far the most sane video on salvia ive found on youtube and ive looked around quite a bit. youre right it is disheartening to see so many people "misuse" the plant and as a result have very shocking, sometimes terrifying experiences. great vid, be well.

I would have to completely agree with your view. Before I tried Salvia Divinorum, I researched to to no end. I could not find enough material to prepare myself for what it was. My first time I laid on a couch with a friend who was also under the effects, and travelled to another universe.
I realize that this plant is a gateway to another realm of human thought. All of the videos on youtube about "OH MY GOD I TRIPPED BALLS" or "HOLY SHIT IM SO HIGH OFF SALVIA" don't make me mad, I empathize.
I empathize for them, because they will never truly grasp the meaning of the sacred plant unless they themselves research what it is and has been used for.
That being said, you don't necessarily need to be in a completely dark room; the most important thing I have found is to be at peace with your mind. Even watching a movie in a dark room with close friends and you will find the same effects.
Great video, hopefully the world will become less stupid, but it has always been that way.

First off, great video, lot of good info. The first time I tried salvia I was with my cousin and it was a pretty frightening experience. It felt like I was going through a sort of tunnel (picture a solid black box with a white outline on the sides of it. This repeated itself many many times over. Like putting two mirrors together and looking at it) It felt INCREDIBLY real and it was a pretty scary experience.
When I was coming out of the trip it felt like the real world was a fabrication and that the other world was the real one. I should also note that in both my trips I was removed from reality as I know it 100%. The room and my cousin were no more. Very scary.
great video. it's too bad certain groups of people are screwing it up for everyone by filming themselves in a party situation. they want to make it illegal because of it. hey...i can come up with lots of videos on youtube of people flopping around on the floor...and that's with the legal drug alcohol...but that's not illegal...and people "do" go out and drive on that. it's a shame.

One thing that needs to be understood is that PCP needs to be made Salvia exists in it's natural form, I'd probably freak out myself haven't tried it yet or any helucinagenic for that matter but I wouldn't go for anything man made when a natural alternative exists.

I have used it, and the experience is always different for everybody, but to make me hallucinate it took two solid hits, taking just one made me feel pretty much how you described it, not much of anything.
The discomfort can happen for sure, I myself have experienced this at threshold effects. However I have also found it a very profound and enlightening experience on certain occasions. Two tries is a much too low a sample rate to make an objective judgment on something. Even if you don't find it useful ever, keep in mind there are many who do find it valuable.
and just so anyone reading this knows, I did it in a good frame of mind, and I don't abuse substances and certainly didn't abuse salvia, but it's just not a good high. I did it by myself, there was no one messing with me while I did it and I'm a very calm and introspective person. it just wasn't good. Marijuana is MUCH better.
salvia is bullshit, it doesn't give you any kind of psychedelic experience, and it's a waste of money. all it did for me was give me massive cold sweats and made clothing feel extremely uncomfortable. WOW MAN AWESOME DRUG!
