That is one happy dog, doing something he clearly enjoys! Congrats to the owner for doing a great job, and thanks for sharing this video so we can all appreciate the strength, and enthusuasim found in this breed. Just awesome!
My previous male big rottie likes to roll, chase and tug on old spare tyre...love it when it swings from a tree branch, what a strength. My present rottie, a female is very vocal, especially if she is not getting the attention she wants, but not in an agressive way.....Treat them well and you can't ask for more from a dog.
Beautiful dog, but by God, I wouldn't fancy throwing a "stick" that big for my Rottie. Wish there were more videos promoting the the breed, cos they really are sweethearts.
that man shouln't pet him and praise him when the dog is in that state of mind. the dog is being slightly aggressive excited and when it's praised then, it'll think it's being praised for being in that aggressive excited state.
Humbug, have you been watching Cesar Millan? We who know dogs, and rottweilers, can read this dog like an open book. There is not a bit aggression in a rottweiler barking and growling like that. Learn before you teach, please.
I totally agree with you , Most rottweilers ive seen are quite vocal including my female rottie who likes to growl when showing affection without any signs of aggression
This is a working breed remember and they love to work!! This dog is having fun and his barking/reaction to his owner is out of excitement and lets keep it going!! Carrying heavy logs is not something he should do everyday as it can be to hard on his joints but certainly was not harmful that day.... That rottie had a blast!!
the dog is just saying comon! comon! lets keep going! lets gooooooo!!!!!!! give me something to do!!!!!!!!!!!! those "pats" the guy is giving him are just keeping his mood elevated and keeping him in a positive state of mind. he is a big powerful dog, he isnt going to act or sound like a little dog, lol. if he was mad he would eat this guy.
I agree with Incipidone's comment about it was too much weight for the dog to handle. I dont agree with the 2 negative comments about he was abusing the dog, he was just giving him pats because he retreived the log. The dog isnt giving pissed off barks, hes communicating with his master!
Hes a big boy! As he gets older you might want to watch his back and joints because he can start to have problems from lifting so much weight. I am not trying to act like a know-it-all, its just that I had a rottie who's back developed a bad disc and we had to put her on meds the rest of her life and the meds ate her liver away and she died. He is a gorgeous rottie and I know you are proud! To the negative comments, he wasnt abusing the dog and the dog is barking and responding to him!
Those logs didn't seem very heavy to that Rottie, Iam sure that it could handle 50 to 70 kg weight if he can get grip of it. And of course they lift and carry the weight with the neck muscles mostly so if they must use their full body strenght it will be disaster! Dogs are strong if they want, we got alaskan husky female, and if she goes after for something I might be in trouble, and Iam robust guy myself.
I agree with you that it can carry weights up 35kgs.
That day i remember i was walking the elder Rottie and he saw a man with a stick. he hates the man.
And he pulled me forward...Lets face it that Rotties are strong. I tried to pull him back with all my strength but it won't work. Then my sister help to pulled him back. and finally he stop. He drag us for 100 hundred metres before he stops. And me and my sis total weight is about 110 kgs...
Yeah, looks more like a demanding bark than a friendly one. And the guy tapping it too cautiously. Those bastards need some handful *beating* , they like it (not this girly fingertip thing) :)
On the other hand I like the 'apporting' ability of that dog :)
awsum work! i love the way the handler will prasie the dog afterwards and the dog will sing and bark and wag his stubby tail. hilarious! just like my own rottie:)
Great vid ,just shows what these gentle giants are capable of .
Shame that these dogs sometimes end up with irresponsible owners and turn nasty .

My brother has a Deutsche Drahthaar...
Jaeger(I insist on spelling and pronouncing it Yogger) can do that...
He has also been bird hunting with My Bro and has brought back Canada Geese with no damage to the geese carcasses...
Yogger's smart, too...

Incipidone 5 years ago
He was a monster, not fat. Ok maybe not 200, but 140+. The average for male rotties is like 100 to 130.

Strong dogs the dude allmost fell trynna run up the hill though lol.

Love the way this man treats his dog! the dog is happy pulling all that weight up hill, wagging its short tail!
Its seems to be a male(?), one of the more fiercefull ones but then again we see here,:
the rotts are what their owners tell them to be. This is a good example of what it can be :)
(i will have a rottweiler in some years and hope it will be as nice as this one).
