someone once said (a particular painting) had a lute in it because a lute, like love, is particularly hard to keep in tune. Seeing this video I think it's particularly hard to play too! Nice playing and her voice is lovely
Valeria, clearly you are on opera singer who wants to express visually what you sing. This is great but being tied down to a chair makes it look weird. Why don't you stand up and do it right instead of being tethered to the chair? You seem to want to stand up but are glued to the seat. Lovely singing.
I don't think it's criticism, I tend to agree with Pasta...I love the performances of Valeria and Alfonso, I really think they are great performers, but indeed she gives the impression she wants to jump of the chair but is stuck to it one way or another...Maybe trying to stand upright would be a good idea, I surely think it would enhance the performance.
Perhaps a taller or closer music stand would help! She's a wonderful singer no doubt, but yeah, I see the funny "stuck jumping" thing too... like her skirt's glued down to the edge of the seat!
She is so expressive, I thought they flew her into Leuven ... by my Time Machine. Exceptional vocalist and her Elizebthan English is faultlesse; Master Rosseter did avowe it me himselfe!
Brava!

Why are you always criticising her?

It is the performance practice of the day that the singer and the lutanist should be seated together :)
Beautiful performance!

@tishierkrisis I agree. Sitting suits some better than others. And performance practices are flexible thank god.
