  • thanks, now i understand how it works

  • since 1990s, many lorry in europe has been using disc brake actuated by air. in US as the new braking regulation is introduced in 2008, many lorry in US are adopting disc brake as big as 22.5 inch rotor. from 60 mph to complete stop, a 6x4 tractor with all wheel disc brake stop at 200ft compared 355ft with all wheel drum brake

  • God bless Discs

  • drum brake with toggle lever, rotracting spring, brake shoe, brake liningsand drum wheel

  • El freno de tambor es un tipo de freno en el que la fricción se causa por un par de zapatas que presionan contra la superficie interior de un tambor giratorio, el cual está conectado al eje o la rueda.

  • I still dont get it!

  • I've invented a drum and bass break it doesn't slow your car down but you can dance to it and it it sounds amazing

  • legit

  • 10/10

  • I saw this and thought, 11 seconds... surely not... but yes! Thank you, sorted...

  • Seriously. If you can invent something like this... Cant you invent a disk break? Becouse its so much simpler...

  • @kregzdeM3 its only after you see an invention , you realize how simple it is ha? :) the hard part is to think of it first :P see the paper clip for ex....

but i guess a more logical explanation is that drum brake was used with similar low tech systems - weak motors, low speed, low grip. its only after engines were stronger and grip was better, vehicles went faster and it was just logical for someone to be the first to invent sth better, the disk brake...

  • @kregzdeM3 just to remind you drum brake take much time to break than disk brake

  • thanks a lot for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they may not have the same perfomance as disc brakes but what they lack in performance they make up for in simplicity and reliability

  • @grahambonnet1996 that made no sense, drum brakes have less reliability than disc brakes, cause they can overheat and you can loose your brakes, that's why you shouldn't hold the brake down all the time when going down a steep hill instead you should shift between manual breaking and using the engine as a brake on a low gear.

  • Thats so simple.

  • 6/5 lol

  • props!

  • Well its exacly what i want to know

  • Exact what i wanted to know... 5/5
