Of course. Thanks for asking. If people in the class ask, please tell them that it is from The Fight in the Fields, and that they can ask the school to buy it for the library. Your name sounds as if you might be Filipino. The film tells the story of how the Filipino farmworkers started the grape strike.
if you don't mind, i would like to ask you permision if i can show this to my school for my project. Our topic is revolutions through out american history, so i choose the delano grape strike and i could really use this :) please and thank you ~genevieve castaneda
My Father was photographer for Cesar and Framworkers I will be using voice snippets from this video for Web portfoilio of his WORK ricardomartinez@gmail.com THANK YOU in Advance
Chavez is one of the most underrated American heroes in history. He stands on the shoulders of Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy in fighting for the basic human rights of all Americans. I am proud to be a teacher and American in the tradition of these great Americans.
You are absolutely right. What happened was connected to strikes. When undocumented workers broke the strike Chavez favored calling the migra. The UFW never focused on organizing undocumented workers. Bert Corona with CASA did a lot.
I also used to work in the fields and seen and heard when Chavez used to call the immigration and snitch on the undocumented workers if they did not want to boycott. That was a side many did not know
I use to work with Cesar Chavez as an organizer in the grapeboycott in the 70's. He was a wonderful person, with a great heart. We miss him a lot. I bet he is in heaven given great talks to the holy angels. Si se puede!
