  • and I'm sorry about your sheltie passing. It is really sad when they go.

  • How did you teach your sheltie to go between your legs? That was so cool. and also how did you teach him to spin around.

  • I wish I could teach my Sheltie to do that stuff. ): I only JUST managed to get her to Sit and Lay Down.

  • I had a Sheltie for 17 years, loved him so much, still miss him and it's been years since he died, he was my baby boy.....

  • Awww she is so cute i have the same dog and her name is Sassy!!!!

  • so fluffly :)

  • Loved watching this!

  • great job there smart i have two

  • wow he is amazing! my sheltie is talented..but not that talented! beautiful dog..amazing tricks..good job(:

  • Taz was an incredibly smart dog. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. The loss of a pet, especially one as great as Taz, is always hard to get over.

  • Taz is excellent with all his tricks and backwards abilities! AMAZING sheltie!

  • Awwww super cutie!!! And that is amazing too!! What a smart dog! :) :) :)

  • perfect dog music!

  • Wow, this is the most intelligent sheltie I have ever seen. I have a little one year old and Im just starting to get her to roll over and crawl (forward of course). Thanks for sharing the video!

  • That's cool! :)

  • Great trix and you can really see how much your dog enjoys this.. Thanks for posting

  • WHOA that was the coolest thing i have ever seen!!

  • AW! Cute!

  • Absolutely adorable!!

I watch this with my 9 month old sheltie Shelly and we love it. what a beautiful tribute to a wonderful and faithful friend

  • your dog is amazing, when he goes backwards he stops ands like "here?, no here?" lol haha

  • wow a have a collie

  • the last rick was awsome. how did you teach him ?

  • The same way I teach a teeter going forward, I start with it really low and work up to full height. Of course, he already had learned how to back up in a straight line first! The hardest part is once it tips and he is going downhill....dogs are much better backing up a hill than down it.

  • Even I couldn't do that, that's so cute though!

  • Great video! Nice work!

    Zak

  • amazing!

  • I am in tears. I was watching your baby and then read he passed. I am so so so sorry. I have several shelties. I had a sheltie that passed away also. Her name was Holly. She is in my heart everyday. Please let me know how you are doing?

  • Thanks, it's been almost 2 years since losing Taz and I do still miss him all the time. But I do have a wonderful young sheltie named Boomer and we have a lot of fun training....he's learned many tricks I never got around to teaching Taz.

  • Taz is so cute...I love Taz

  • Fantastic!

  • Omg, haha, my sheltie doese some of the same exact tricks. They are such smart, loyal, and loving dogs. They have such big personalities as well. My sister has been trying to teach our dog Shane to weave between the legs like yours does. They are so smart that they learn tricks remarkably fast. Doing tricks with them is one way to stimulate their minds and make them smarter. That's a beautiful Sheltie by the way, I'm so sorry to hear he passed. I know that my Sheltie is a part of my family.

  • How cute Taz is.

  • what a smart and gorgeous Sheltie Taz was. I am heartbroken to hear of his sudden passing. Our furry kids are Members of our family and he certainly was very lucky to have you as his guardian and best friend.

I have always wanted a Sheltie and I noticed Boomer is on the small side-what does he weigh? You have been blessed :)

  • Boomer is indeed on the small side, he is right around the 13" height mark. He weighs around 18 pounds.

  • Wow, Amazing work :)

  • how u did this video with sound and can still hear ur voice??? plz answer i have shelties on my own n and i tried to do videos of them with sound but i dont know how!!!

    plz answer love

    Flory

p.s u have a wonderful and gorgeous sheltie!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My video editing software (ULead Video Studio) allows you to easily add an additional sound track and adjust the levels of each, although I think I could have made the music a little softer!

  • wow a beautiful shelt!! :) :) you must be so proud!

  • WOW !!! Makes my sheltie look tarded ,LOL !!!!

  • wow he has to be the smartest dog ever!! he is so great!! i have a beagle as well he has his own channel milothebeagle08 check him out!

  • PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU TRAINED HIM TO DO SUCH THINGS MINE IS ONLY ( weeks hehe

  • Wonderful tricks!

  • Taz was a very very good doggy. :(

  • do they live long?(sheltie doggies)

  • they typically live to be any where between 11 and 15 years of age. I have owned one that lived to be 17, so it just depends...

  • All dogs live up to 10-15 years

  • two words.... pet star

  • Taz appeared 3 times on Pet Star doing other tricks (see our other video clips!) We were going to be on again doing these backwards tricks, but unfortunately, the show as canceled. ;-(

  • Nice video and sheltie. I'm teaching mine some of the same things and they learn so fast! But sometimes too smart and like a cat he will look at me like: are you kidding me....lol but you can learn them many things and are very loyal dogs!

  • I love your videos! Shelties are so clever and cute. I have one myself :)

  • aw he's so sweet and smart, you can tell he loves you dearly. my sheltie also passed away suddenly, and while it's hard on us, at least it's some condolence to know that it's better for them to not have had to suffer. I'm sure he was happy and dancing up til the very end.

  • 58 was pretty cool and 1:04 was awesome

  • What an amazing sheltie! Mine is so naughty!

  • i can't get over this!!

    he is great!!!

  • He really is amazing. I know what it's like to lose a pet because my guinea pig passed away about a month ago. I miss him a lot. But one thing that is happy for me was he was still being strong and acting like himself, even at the very end.

  • Shelties truly are the most amazing dogs...

  • He was very talented, sorry he passed away.

  • wow he died.. hes really talented nd its sad for a talented dog like that die so fast...

  • That´s really great! Awesome!

  • CUTE!

  • What a sweetheart! I saw him on pet star. I am sorry to hear about the loss : (

  • britains got talent :P

    xx

  • I'm sorry to hear about Tax. Am I wrong, or wasn't he on Dog Star at one time? He was a very special boy, and I know you miss him.

  • Pet Star, and yes he was on several times. If you click More From: maryjo313 you can view clips from some of the shows.

  • My sheltie could barely run forwards, much less do backward leg loops...

  • wow he's very talented

many dogs dont even know they have back legs

  • He was so talented, thanks for sharing.

  • This is awesome! It will serve as a wonderful memory/tribute of what he could do!

Thanks for sharing your dog with us!

  • It might be weird hearing me say this so much later on. :) it is SO sad to hear about Taz dieing. He was so cute and talented! I'm sorry if i reminded you!!!!!!!! you know, of his... death? :(((

  • So sad to hear that he died. It'd be even greater if he did a backflip, but he did his best, and was awesome anyway. Beautiful dog.

  • RIP??? sniff : (

  • you have such an amazingly smart dog.... how did you get him to do so many cool tricks?! I a sheltie too, Abbi. shes smart. but only really does the basics, sit, laydown.... etc. i actually have a vid of her on my page. =)

  • Well, that's hard to answer in this small amount of space we are given! But I basically use positive reinforcement methods and break each trick into small pieces. Like for stairs, I start the dog at the top, and have him just do one step back, then two, then three and so on.

  • I have a sheltie, too, and I've gotta say, shelties are such a youthful dog even when they get older. I'm sure he's out there doing backflips in heaven knowing that he lived with such a good owner.

  • Aww, thanks! He always seemed to enjoy just about everything we did, and if I felt he didn't enjoy something enough, we'd just do something else! I always felt he did so much for me, and tried so hard to please, that my job was just to keep it fun and make sure I never asked more from him than he would do willingly.

  • That is an amazing dog! I wish mine would do those kinds of tricks. If he stopped chewing up the carpets then thats a start.

  • Awsome dog taz is smart :)

  • AWESOME. Especially backing up the stairs and backing over the teeter-totter! I'm sorry about his passing, I'm sure he will be missed. What a wonderful, intelligent, beautiful dog.

  • Aww, thanks, and thanks for all your nice comments! Yeah, Taz was truly a special dog and will live forever in my heart.

  • When I look at Taz I think of Skyy. Skyy's my sheltie and he's one year old. I couldn't imagine loosing Skyy.

    Taz Rest in Peace

  • What a smart, beautiful dog. Very sorry to hear of Taz's passing, hope you are okay.

  • Truly awesome. My sheltie knows quite a few tricks, none so cool as the ones you have shown though.

  • Awesome!

  • That´s really great!

13 years? It´s incredible, he lokks stunning and agile. A beautiful dog, and so interesting tricks backwards ... including a see-saw! Congratulations!

  • Great video. Taz doesn't look 13 years at all, and his coat is beautiful. I was impressed with backwards up the stairs. :D

  • I love these tricks and Taz is such a beautiful dog! How did you get him to be so comfortable going backwards? I'm trying to get my sheltie to do backwards tricks and he is hesitant about it!

  • Just lots and lots of practice! I start early with my dogs teaching them to back up to catch a toy and just work up from there.

  • Good work, Taz! ein toller hund!
