@MrOneWolfe I don't think so mate, I'm pretty sure that pistons have always reduced pumpkins to an entity block. That's why you can't make snowman factories. 8)

The terrain gen change altering your pine forest to a fully fledged Tiaga complete with snow and ice is one of the few times the biome transformation has been beneficial. Very nice to see. As you prove, will mean you can gather ice with only a bit of piston pushing to do.

Digging into redstone wiring can be a problem, so I've taken to laying redstone on melons wherever possible now so it is clear to see.

Really like your window at the end of the farm giving such a nice view.

@TheMindfiend Cheers TM, I usually do the same thing with wiring, I follow Etho's lead and use cobblestone, but the item elevator was a little tougher, because it needed a lot of space filling to mob proof it 8)

a tip for pushing a block of ice further stack sand on the one next to the piston the sand will drop and you can push it about 6 block each time!

Why not do that thing where the water flows along then up a set of stairs (in some of ethoslabs videos) in your melon/pumpkin farm, this would allow you to put a farm where your current system is behind that wall. would be nice if he saw this >_< lol (would also have saved moving the ice tho its cool lol)

I was mildly disappointed when I read that they nerfed silk touch's ability to collect ice (so much for terraforming the Nether). Somehow, it didn't occur to me that you could transport lines of ice with pistons, so I ended up smacking myself on the forehead for not realizing it.

@asnopus No, unforetunately jeb removed the ability to harvest ice blocks with silk touch in 1.9 because it allowed water in the nether.

@salgurdar That's such a silly decision imho! If he didn't want water in the nether he should have just made is so that any water that exist in the nether vaporizes. If the source is a bucket or an iceblock shouldn't matter. I would love to be able to place ice manually using Silk Touch. Placing a crafted snowblock in a water sourceblock (or pouring water onto crafted snowblocks) would also have been a fun feature I think. :)
