  • Never knew md500s were so powerful

  • @XxIceCavexX .They have been known to drag a ton of the hill

  • Man thats a strong little bird to pick that other body up like that.

  • I want one!!

  • look at 0:13 seconds!!

    Something fall down from Helicopter.

  • awesome pilot!!

  • @jvkphoto Not sure why, but yeah, I suppose the pilot is okay.

  • this video must have been recorded standing right next to another helicopter. at 0:45 you can see the tail rotor of the other helicopter on the far left edge of the screen. Great vid though.

  • This should be on a McDonald Douglas commercial lol

  • *McDonnell

  • no more mcdonell douglas just simply md helicopters now

  • Damn i didn't know the 500 had enough enough grunt to do that. I'v only seen them lift an R-22. But then again that was like half a 206 lol

  • If you look closely, the 206 has no engine nor tail boom, it weighs less than it was before the accident.

  • Why did the Jet Ranger crash and what happened to its crew?

  • I love the 500T series. Cool sound and very maneuverable. Why do all the municipalities fly french helecopters? Are they cheaper? Can't believe they're better..

  • 500T?

  • MD's are American dude.

    French people and machines suck.

And there is no such thing as a 500T.

  • 500T was the designation given to the first Hughes 500 series that had the "T" tail boom. I go back a little further than you I think.

  • No T series.

  • Those are classified as non exsistent. There is a 500 with a T tail. Nuff said.

  • When the series was introduced with the T tail, it was known as the 500T

    PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Created for 160th SOAR. Hell those guys even have their own jigs for the 500. Also known as the MH-6.

One of the best Helo's in its weight class...

  • @cyprixx *D,E, or F

  • actually cyprixx if you want to get techincal the first designation hughes gave the 500 T as you call it was the 369 series and no it is not referred to as the 500T it is 500D as in david the 500 c has the y shaped stabilizer on the tail

  • @motokid032

I guess you're American, right? And because the machines from EC suck big time YOUR Coast Guard (Dolphin), Army (Lakota), CBP (EC 120 and Astar B3), most of the EMS outfits (Astar B3/B2 and EC 135/145), the FBI (Astar B3) fly thousands of Eurocopter Choppers? So they're stupid or your talking crap man. The only somewhat competitive helicopter that Bell produces is the 407. Go to "hot and high conditions" and the 407 doesn't stand a chance against the Astar B3. Greetings from Germany

  • @muermel01 Ok, I didn't even take the time to look for the comment you are responding to, but if you're going to compare, at least be fair about it. The U.S. Armed Forces uses many times more Sikorskys than Eurocopters. Coast guard included. FBI, I'll give you that. EMS is definitely more Bell 407s than anything else here. Maybe not in Europe, but Bell owns the industry here. And by the way, the 407 is build for hot and high, something the EC120, 135/145 struggle with.

  • @HunterPilot24 You're comparing a a 407 against a 135/145 and a EC 120 and tell me to make fair comparisons? The 120 is an entry level helicopter like the Jet Ranger and the 135/145 are twin engined helicopters so you're not being fair at all. Compare the 407 against a 350 B3 and the B3 will outperform the 407 in terms of payload and flying in hot and high conditions any day. Talked to a B3 pilot (with 407 experience!) a week ago, who confirmed that. Astar B2 and 407 are pretty much on par.

  • @muermel01 Well as long as you're talking about personal preference, I like MD Helicopters. The MD 500/520 both destroy the competition in the light turbine market. I'd call it a toss up between the 407 and B2. I've never flown a Eurocopter so I can't speak from experience, but I have flown bells and MDs.

  • @HunterPilot24 Nothing wrong with personal preferences :-) I responded here in the first place cause of this "French people and machines suck" on page 3. MD 500s are pretty cool machines and there's no real competition for them, agreed. Shame though that the company doesn't get their stuff together. As I said, B2 vs. 407, comes down to preference. B3 vs. 407, as long as you don't need the 407s better speed and better handling, the B3 wins most of the time. Especially long line and "hot&high".

  • @muermel01 The B206-L3 to B407 comparison is a lot like the A Star B2 to B3. The 407 has more power and a better rotor head and more blades for gross weight work hotter and higher than the Longranger. The 407 is probably a better comparison to the B3 because I'd put the B2 against the Longranger with its 2 blade rotor.

  • The load got nice and close to those trees..

  • DRUG RUNNERS?

  • Haha, tells you which is a better machine, the 500 hands down.
