  • irnspiring

  • to quote randy quade from days of thunder," wats the one thing you absolutley have to do in order to win a race?you have to finish the race" you did that steve you put the time effort and work in to get there so you deserve the win.well done champ

  • well won and well deserved(:

  • The song is called Soldier's Fate by Underground Trailer Music

  • if he didnt take the gold medal everyone in australia would hate him forever but were glad he took it.

  • any1 kno wat the music is???

  • good on you mate,

    you deserve that gold,

  • @tezgm99 i agree..

he put in all of his effort and then he wins the gold medal and that was well deserved

  • love this

  • Well, in that perspective, he deserved to win, because his struggle was way bigger than just winning a race.

That being said, he wasn't the best skater, and he acknowledge it. So yeah, he won by accident. But that's sport.

  • he isn't the best skater, he isn't the fastest but he is the standing

  • There's an old saying.... The bookies pay the same odd's whether the horse wins by a nose or 5 lengths.

If the rest of the field want call time out to have tea party in the corner, that's their business. Doesn't mean you have to join them.

  • Guys, he deserved it because he crossed the line first. He didnt cheat, the others stuffed up, therefore he was the best skater on the day. He was the one that didnt fall over. Think Formula One. If the cars crash, the guy on the podium is the one who didnt stuff up and crash, so how is this different.

  • actually no not really cuz one guy falling caused the 2 other skaters to fall which really wasnt their fault. the only reason bradbury didnt fall either was because he was trailing all the way in the back!!

  • @Apemano Yes, I agree.

  • I don't understand how people could say he deserved the gold when he was trailing behind the others....im sure the other skaters trained just has hard

  • "...behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last..." Lu 13.30

  • It is 1 of the most remarkable achievements in Australian sport. Purely because Steven Bradbury was always chasing his dream. As he describes 12 hard years of bumps bruises and injuries eventually rewarded him with The Gold. Well Deserved.

  • I'm glad he won, because he deserved it :D even thoug I'm a ohno fan. Idc<3 he's great, Steven is hreat

  • my hero!!!!!!!!1

  • for sure buddy you deserved the win you where ment to win your a legend and roll model to allways have a crack and never give in

  • I'm glad the first gold medal we won went to this man rather than some ex Canuck show pony we granted citizenship.

Getting to any final is hard, if he was there he was as deserving a winner as any other skater on the ice that day.

    Legend.

  • Love the video. One of the most bizarre gold medals ever. He didn't really 'beat' a 4 time WC (Gagnon) though, as Gagnon was DQ'd.

  • This is truly unbelievable, and i think he deserves the gold medal.

  • totally agree...and as he said, he took it for all the hard work he'd put in the 12 years leading up to it, not the race itself :)

  • @tezgm99 It's a challenge to stay motivated for a long time like 12 years. And coming from a place where the odds where against him, he more than deserved that medal. Steve Bradbury will be a legend in Australian sport for years to come.

  • Is the english commentator working for Nine network now?

  • Mark Nicholas has been commentating with Nine for a long time now. I think prior to 2005 he started with the network. He also did some work hosting the 06 Commonwealth Games.
