  • The Guard of the Hawk ! No one can beat Balian :D

  • you dont fuck with orlando bloom when he's washing his face bitch

  • This is such a satisfying moment, I can't believe it got cut out. Especially when in the theatrical cut, Guy just disappears. I wanted to see Balian beat Guy, especially after he spared his life due to his moral code.

  • this wasnt in the movie...

  • This scene was cut out of the theatrical version and first release, along with over an hours worth of footage. Ridley Scott (Dir) has said for years that the release is a butchered version that cut the heart out of the film.

Do yourself a favor and get the Director's Cut. Awesome movie.

  • @Halcyonwanderer

i have the directors cut and this scene still is not in it

  • This movie would have been better if Orlando Bloom wasnt in it.

  • Why isn't this in the Theatre's cut?? When was this scene??

  • Yeah and so far it's been shit with political correctness gone mad for shit knows how many years. I might not even be able to carry my sword in public OR wear my tunic with the white cross on it becuase its deemed as racist..even though it's my job/livelyhood..so whats good about 2010?

  • How can a white cross be racist?

Are you in a renaicance fair or something?

  • No i'm not an American...its my job and a hobby point being i dont know why, it's just been said to me before some of the 'non christians' saw it as me forcing my religeon onto them where in fact i'm not very religious and its historical accuracy.

  • If you have a hand and a half sword like Balien or however then YES you can use two hands. I prefer to use two hands and i have a single handed crusader sword..a sheild is cumbersome..hampers your foot work..you draw the enemy in slice down diagonal over the hip to knee..most will be overconfident vs a reenactor with no sheild. Also, no pot helm, a nasal helm at best gives better vision. however i do like pot helms..miss my old got batterd to my head lol

  • The year is 2010...weirdos

  • Funny thing is that Balian just washes the blood off himself and then he fights Guy and gets all bloody again!

I don't know why this scene was taken out to begin with. In the original, Guy just disappears after being humiliated. I like this fight because Balian puts up with Guy and spares his life, it's satisfying to watch Balian give him what he deserves.

I still can't believe that's Marton Csokas! He was Orlando's elven brethren in LOTR!

  • Wait... can someone help me?

At what point in the film is this scene?

  • @Scruffy193 It's from the Directors Cut.

  • I understand that, but from major point in the story does this scene follow?

  • This was a good scene, why did they remove it?

  • Too bad you don't really fight that way with swords. Well, what do I know how they fought in the early 1100, but at least they didn't fight like that in the 1300s, according to the Tower Manual.

  • actually from my research the dual sword style is similar to this (maybe not as choreographic looking, but still). Anyway the choreographer is a guy who seems to know the styles of the times.

ps. what is the "Tower Manual"?

  • The Tower Manual is a manual on fencing from the 1300's. Also known as the 1.33 and (may be misspelled) fechtbuch (it should mean fencing book.)

Check out a few clips if you get a chance. :)

  • I don't remember too much. But was that manual meant for longswords? Not hand and a halfs like the ones here? I don't know but living in Japan I have a new found love for my cultures history.

  • I believe you are correct. I know Crusaders didn't hold 2 hands on the sword one reason is that they held shields and the other reason was that that their isen't enough room on the swords they use. I also believe they didn't left them so easy to kill with that sword in high stance.

  • geoffrey was the the brother of balian not his father,Balian wasnt a blacksmith she was a pulain, and Ibelin she was a great castle with 4 towers!.Tiberias is Raymond of tripoli III.the movie is a myth.

  • I wanted to see this seen so badly after Balian saved Guy from his rightful fate. Guy gets his evil butt handed to him by Lord Balian!

  • Oh no! You're here too?!

  • I Can Understand Orlando Bloom That He Was Pissed Off!!! This Is A Great Scene Damned...

Orlando You Rock My World!!! Love You

  • THey just had to remove it...

  • awsome sword fight!!!

  • Short and intense,...good!

  • If you listen to Orlando's commentary on this scene you can tell from his voice he was uber pissed that it was cut out.

I can see why, it's an excelent scene and I bet it took a very long time to coreagraph, and rehearse.

  • man... why did they have to cut it? its amazing!!

  • @Halfbloodalchemist Lamme editor, ruin a perfect movie in order to make it shorter, should be in court for that

  • ohhhhhhhh!!!!!!! that was awesome!!

    hehee! that was great

  • both of them were elves i mite add pointlessly lol

  • Director's Cut is a great DVD!

  • nice why did this video never was in a movie ??

  • the executives at 20th Century Fox believed people would be less inclined to see a historical drama than a historical action so about 45 minutes to an hour of material was cut from the movie, this scene sadly was among them.

  • assassin's creed

  • Oh my god! That was fucking awesome! I'm putting the Director's Cut on my Christmas list!

  • I have the movie and I can't found this part in the cd why?

  • Because this is from the Directors cut which is better

  • although balian fights very well ,although guy owns him at the beggining but later hes is better....

  • i said lol because my friend, onufripos ,you have written it wrong, its actually "we are all of us what we do" and by the way LOL ALL YOUR FAVOURITES ARE PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN!

  • Lol

  • You can also find this high-guard stance

    in the Kendo-Kata´s.

  • ridley you are a GENIUS!!!

  • Guy does not use the tactics Balian was taught from his father...Balian knows how to defend himself.Guy is a good swordsman..but u see at 1.15 his difference with Balian at sword.I may be wrong but that is my opinion:Balian even as a blacksmither is better at sword than Guy is.And we r all what we do mates.Remember that.

  • Man,balian did not defend himself well...since guy managed to punch him easily... and man,...LOL "MATES" Are you in pirates of the carribean..:)

  • Yeah but i guess that you don't even know how to use a sword..and what is the 'although' at the begining of ur sentence??

  • Why Do you?

  • i can handle a sword well ,but can you do any moves..nad you beat me in your house because you almost "cut" my arm .......

  • Oh yeah correct...but u get panicked very easily ;)

  • Mckidd played an English Sergeant (a warrior in his own right) in the movie.

  • he is so sexy in this movie amazing movie

  • I have bailians sword from this movie

  • ha ha really? How much did it cost ya?

  • $150

  • windlass??

  • yes, unfortunately they don't make them any more and are a bitch to find.

  • daYEmm!!.wotta quik reply. u can still order them. they got them on their website

  • really? i didn't know that, that is cool, especially considering they stoped making them back in may

  • how do u no?? wher does it say dat??

  • A fake version of his sword, you have. Orlando has the real one.

  • Windlass Steelcrafts made all of the swords and spears seen in the movie. The one that I have, and the one that Orlando have are IDENTICAL.

  • Not true. Nothing is completely identical. It's science.

    :)

  • yeah baby!orlando(balian)kicked his ass!!the best scene ever!why did they cut this again?balian is bad!whoo.

  • i agree wat a domeass directer to cut one of the best scenes

  • It wasn't Ridley's call to cut this among other scenes, the producers wanted an action movie set in historical times rather than a drama set in historical times...sad really, you can hear how pissed Orlando was about this scene being cut in the commentary.

  • oh mann! why! why!!! they should've put this on the original DVD.

  • Great scene! He´s a very good swordsmen altough he only got one lesson from his father:)

Kinda annoying tough, that Kingdom of heaven isn´t following the real events at all. I mean Balian of Ibelin had a brother that ruled with him in the county of Ibelin, he was definetley not a blacksmith in France and none of them had a father called Godfrey of Ibelin!

  • well if you watch, when his dad and his boys are schoolin' the fool, they establish that he'd already been formerly trained, and so basically his dad and the others are giving him brush ups and the high guard which (according to the film) was supposedly preferred in the middle east at that time. I'm a stickler for history too, but look how long the edited version of this film was, there would have been no way to get it all in. I'll give it a pass for maximum effort!

  • yeah! Agree

  • hardcore

  • oh man! why did they cut that bit out!?!?!?!

  • Watch the Director's cut. They cut a lot of really cool stuff out.

  • Guy's not a bad swordsman!

  • rise a knight ? why dont just kill that idiot ?

  • I watched the film again, and as much as this scene rocks, it's placement in the film is really odd. And Balian's line ("We are all what we do.") is borderline lame.

    Awesome scene, though.

  • It happens after Balian surrenders to Saladin, just before he leaves for France.

  • hey when does this scene occur in the movie... i know its a DC, but at wat point in the movie does this happen... and y is balian knightin guy??

  • Did any of you pay attention to the movie? At the beginning of the film Balian already had combat experience; even his father comments that he fights well. Add to that all the battles he see throughout the film, and there's no denying he knows how to handle a sword.

  • Yes..well..in the extended one it says that Balian had already fought on horse and as an engineer also..so that is why he knows how to handle a sword

  • against whom and for whom did u fight?

  • nice.

  • Balian is a swordsmith. he should have some idea about using the weapons he creates.

  • XDXD

  • thats a great vid, thanks for posting it. Balian is the best I think, isn't he?

  • Squee! Smash Guy's face, Balian! Love that scene :)

  • By the time Balian's father had found him, he had already been to crusade and back again. He was seasoned..something they had left out in the theatrical version.

  • At the end of the movie, after Balian's taken on the Saracens, I think he could hold his own against Guy.

  • thanks for putting this here, but a blacksmith would never win a knight templar with years and years of training
