  • If your gayass exploerer even comes close to my 86 imma fuck up your windshield

  • the bigger the SUV the better!

  • thank you for ruining true suvs.

  • that 1972 chyenne is fuken klean!!!

  • This just in, roads shared by different vehicles!

  • Try doing it with a H2 or a H1 the H3 is just the baby hummer

  • what the presenter failed to take note regarding the bulky, ground clearance reducing bumper cover on the 2008 chevy is to increase highway fuel economy by reducing drag(wind resistance) on the underside of the truck.

  • @bobert486 you are pointless.

He is talking about bumper crashing, not MPGs.

  • My guess is they don't like Sonata's

  • ou its hummer h3 the baby suv

  • that is what insurance is for... you dont pay a penny! ... until your rates go up =/

  • i wonder how much ford paid to have this study done. this is not a bumper test but a ford commercial!!!

  • yay ford. Actually I think the new requirement should force car bumpers to get a lot higher rather than truck bumpers getting lower.

  • this research is used by insurance companies how to set your rates for auto insurance, drive one of the vehicles that don't line up the bumpers and you will pay more money for the state minimum coverage for accidents. As for the "work vehicle" description, the video is right, 90% of those vehicles are not work vehicles, their hauling kids around or one person for status with 20 inch rims, etc.

  • easy fix dont drive a hyundai lol

  • way sonata

    it ts very good car

and it is no for التجربه

  • Good thing my mom bought the same body style as that Explorer last year.

  • I would love one of those. Also read a good article about the same at fasteconomicalcars (.) com

  • note to all do not hide dead bodies in the trunks of the Hyundai Sonatas

  • thats ok ford..see you in the dealer

  • @ 2;27 what this guy said is totally contradictory to the purpose of this video. I thought he said they were not at the appropriate height which implies they DO NOt know how to properly design truck and SUV bumpers

  • @F6HemiCharger ...he was just giving an example of ONE suv that does have appropriate bumper height. He was also implying that auto-makers know how to make bumper heights match that of cars, they just don't.

  • @soccerpeve OK soo... I could care less, because I was just commenting...

  • fuck that, I want my bumper ti fuck the other guy up.

  • yea!! u go ford!!

  • why they test on a lovely sonata? Sonata aren't cheap, it is a nice sedan car. love it

  • also car companies are stupid these days anyway. whos bight idea was it to put the bumper under the body work?

  • @markssite I guess it's primarily for aerodynamic and aesthetic reasons.

  • well what if the idiot in the car backs into my truck? i dont want my truck damaged. this guy makes it seem trucks are always at fault. i want a bumper that messes anyone stupid enough to pull out in front of me up and im 100% safe

  • Explorer isnt a real Suv anyway. Wait until i get my warn bumper for my cherokee.

  • I have a iron bull bumper on my F-150 3/16" steel plate plus a 2" lift so I think i would drive over that rice bucket or any other car.

  • As their catch phrase says "BUILT FORD TOUGH" should be saying "BUILT FORD THOUGHT"

  • after reading some of these comments its obvious our school systems FAIL!!!!

  • Lol those pants

  • He must not like lifted suv's and trucks too much

  • hyundai are piece of trash..

  • @reviva2003 Say that to their stocks which is 4 times higher than what it was 2 years ago. They must be doing something right.

  • fuck ford that chevy was nice

  • This is equivalent to banning steroids in sports. They dont want guys getting huge and doing much better than the little guy. People know SUVs fare better in crashes, and they know that small cars are more likely to incur a lot of damage in a crash. This is just some enviro-bureaucracy trying to get everyone to drive priuses.

  • My bumper on my F-350 is made of 1/4" steel plate and 2" steel tubing welded straight to the frame that will do some damage.

  • My wife got in a car accident with a drunk driver. She was driving my Chevy C-3500 which has 14" of lift and 42" tires. She was pregnant with my son at the time and was not hurt one bit. The truck had no damage and only a little paint on the tires. The other car was destroyed. If people want to be safe they should buy big trucks not little cars. It's not my fault that people are too cheap or poor to buy trucks.

  • what is the point of a bumper if it costs us so much money to repair?

  • for my car i'll fix the beam but i'll just buy a front guard thing (u know like what the cop cars have)

  • haha the h2 could been driving over the car in a higher speed hahaha

  • haha chevy can suck it!!!!

wait thats a great idea, have chevy suck up the oil spill in the gulf

thank you ford for this wonderfull idea...

  • I like Ford. It didn't take our money to survive!

  • badass Chevy C-10 Cheyenne at 1:30

  • "the SUV bumper just becomes a battering ram as it overrides the car bumper". this would be a direct result of vehicle dominance, dont drive a pussy car and your bumpers wont be "overridden". same concept as a big guy fighting a small guy.

  • @07RedRider400 Yeah, except the small guy decides to fight the bigger one in a fight. Not exactly the same idea when you crash into somebody with your huge (and probably much needed) penis extension.

  • @1997FordProbeGT yeah grand cherokees are shitty the only advantage is coils in the front and back better articulation when lifted

  • what i would do is have a fold able bumper that would fold down when on road and out of work zones (sorry for spelling thats my worst subject)

  • better yet don't drive an suv

  • proud to drive a Ford!

  • dam dat hummer iz a killeer

  • should have used a camry. but then again. that SUV would have to be driving REALLY fast to catch up to the camry to actually hit it.

  • i have a lifted jeep cherokee and someone in a tauris hit me and theyre car actually ended up underneath mine ha ha ha

  • "Consumers can save a lot of money in unnecessary repair cost", if drivers would be more careful and maintain the correct distance between cars.

  • Just don't Hit people.

  • $5000 my ass!! RIP off!!

  • @kishz trust me that costs 5000 to fix

  • I wonder if Ford paid somebody to make these videos

  • QX56 is nice

  • 1:27 LOL@5k worth or damage i can fix all that for 1k at the most

  • Why hasn't the government mandated lower bumpers on SUV's? Obama...you're sure doing a great job to clean up our roads of these dangerous and wasteful vehicles....NOT!

  • Stop looking for miracles for everything get real. Yes, the government does need to mandate lower bumpers. Just think how much less our insurance would be and damage would be.

  • so basicly we all buy exploorers HAHA NO!!!!!

  • explorers aren't too good, but the F series pickups are the best

  • @davesfarmdozer Lol.

  • LOL look at those new cars getting trashed from being rear-ended by an SUV!

Some woman in an SUV rear-ended me in my 1974 Ford LTD, and I had no damage at all. And it wasn't just a little tap, it was a HELL of an impact! Her bumper was completely obliterated.

You can't beat the durability of a vintage car.

  • what was she driving? My grandpa broke the rad of a lumina with a 1987 Ford Crown Victoria. The Vic only had a broken turn signal light. The lumina had to be towed

  • metal always beats plastic

  • rubish

  • Oh, I other people should buy bigger cars or trucks just so you can have your off road fun. I have a better idea, have your 4x4 for your off road and buy a diffrent vehicle for the streets. Doesnt make sense does it. This a design problem. I only know one person that 4x4's and his truck is so high off the ground that he doesnt even take it out on the streets much. man you should hear those tires on the pavement. It's LOUD, he hates that sound too.

  • or just buy a bigger car :)

  • im with you on that one

  • so it's someone hitting your bumper, so what if it's expensive to repair. it's not your fault so you're not the one paying for the damages, its the person who hit you. well that's in my area i dunno about other places.

  • your car won't drive the same if the chassis is bent

  • Bumper beam mismatch should resolve in higher insurance premiums.

Insurrance compagnies take weight into account, so why not bumpers that don't comply to the standard for luxury cars?

  • that truck was a 2x4 not a 4x4 that is y it is so low

  • Pretty interesting, but with all of these new regulations truck bumpers crush like any other plastic bumper and they cost more than one off a car. The video specifically avoided mentioning how much it cost to fix the suv's and trucks. Fixing them probably cost the same as the car if not more.

  • Ford wins, again =)

  • @AnthraxBird He said that the bumpers on SUVs and trucks are high because they are made to work. The Fords bumper is low like a car. That means that the Ford is not a working SUV. Typical Ford, falls short of a working class but high in luxury!!

  • This is BS, I go 4 wheeling so why should I lower my bumper cuz someone else drives a small car, you want less damage, get a larger vehicle. This falls along the lines of "SUV are more dangerous to the driver in the other car" again BS, you wanted good gas mileage, you loose some safety.

  • I have a 2008 Explorer the one in the test, I've never crashed it into anything but happy to know it would hold up really well. And I've cashed in on 2 cars being totaled out at the cost of over 55grand. So my monthly prem are worth it.

  • hummer are strong cars

  • then take a look at the crash tests...

  • oh yeah the go tear up everything on the road

  • he's just whining because he is representing insurance companies. we pay premiums our whole life and insurance companies always have to complain about the slightest payout. sign the checks and quit bitching.

  • its kind of funny that the silverados bumper is low for a better apperance but the cheyenne still looks better.

  • that 72 Chevy is very sexy.

  • damn crappy hyundais.

    XD

  • THE BEST CAR IS THE DATSUN

  • To you SUV haters, when the bumpers are higher it equals higher ground clearence and better approach angle = better off roading abilities which some of us need...

  • maybe you are right, but, didnt you see the explanation on the cheyenne and silverado, silverado has lower distance between ground and bumper, (plastic one) so for your "off-road drive" a silverado is not a good option. thats why he is saying that is more for appearance and not for protection

  • those cocksuckers destroy's too many cars for nothign !

  • then dont get in the way of them

  • yep if u wonna have a small crapy car then get out of the 4x4s way

  • You'd like my bumper on my Jeep - it would clear the trunk on that car.

  • @searsbrothers yeaa i agree with that haha and what about people with lifted trucks?

  • @searsbrothers thats hilarious cause i got rearended by some tiny ass car in my jeep today i had no damage not even a scratch but their car was dented hahaha

  • its cause they cant handle the power of a suv or truck they prolly drive a mini van or a lil chevy aveo

  • so very true
