Does anyone feel like sometimes the tenets of a religion are kind of in their own self interest? Back in the day Mormons practiced polygamy which, I assume, was to increase the number of Mormons. Isn't religion saying gay is bad similar to this?
I feel like during the Crusades some Christian asked "Why are gay people bad?" and someone said "Because we want to out-breed the Muslims!"

Bachmann was perfectly sweet to the kid, behaved exactly as she should have. The mom had a chance to engage with one of the leading right-wing wackos of all time and to challenge her views on gay equality. And what did she do with that opportunity? She let an 8 year old do the talking for her. What was she thinking?
Actually, there's been a proper translation done of the book of Paul. In it, he does not refer to homosexuality as a grave sin. Instead, homosexuality is used as a contrasting comparison against what is described as a deadly sin. So now, if these so-called fundamentalists want to claim they're truly Christians, they have to accept homosexuality just like the bible does.

Additionally, those who use the Old Testament to make their argument (candy-picked as it may be) and still call themselves "Christian" have apparently missed the entire point of Emmanuel, God-With-Us.
