At least there's not filth on the floor, that would have made things really difficult. One good thing about this is that the belongings are in boxes.
What you can do is check the weather forecast a few days or a week ahead to make sure you have sunny days...set up 3 areas in the backyard to sort by TRASH, KEEP & DONATE.....as long as you have enough people to help, it can certainly be done. And if you have one near you call 1-800-GOT-JUNK to pick up the trash & furniture you don't want.
1800 got junk will just rip you off, i called them to pick up half a truckload of easy to load household items and they wanted like 400$ to fill half a truckload. id call 1800-dumpster or visit their website for a dumpster to get dropped off then picked up
I'm in a similar situation, having lost both parents recently. The house was generally orderly, but they had accumulated a LOT of things over their lifetimes. Triage plan: Keep (a few personal mementos, family photos, etc.); Sell (estate auction and CraigsList if it has value); Discard (everything else). The Keep pile needs to be very small. Unless the house is going to be rented with furnishings, get rid of furniture and appliances by selling, giving to charity, or dumping.
First let me say I'm sorry about your loss. That is a void that can't be filled by anyone else. Have you gotten everything ceaned up? Or iis there still tons and tons left?
1.800.got.junk. My parents are deceased also, and I have few few belongings of theirs (because I don't need all of it to remember them). You may need to sort by the mass...Donate all clothes and futniture. All the paper, recycle...every legal document SAVE for 5 years, save the pictures. There's a start for ya! Good luck sweetie :( Sorry about your loss
