  • gorgeous sounds!

  • Reminds me of Golden Sun.

  • You're the best... I love your music...

    best regards from Brasil.

  • I can imagine they have conversations with people that go like this "What do you do for a living?" "I play music" "Oh! Thats really cool! What instrument do you play?" "The recorder" "...e___e"

  • Masterful.

  • Beautiful

  • Isn't this the same tune in "Can She Excuse?"

  • @quickbrownfox42 thats what i thought

  • @quickbrownfox42 it is exactly what it is

  • @quickbrownfox42 yes, its the same. You can find this in all of renaissance music, variations on pieces. One beautiful piece by Josquin des Pres has about 22 versions by various composers, much the same way modern musicians play a song differently.

  • incredible video!! absolutely wonderful piece and everyone's playing is spectacular. I do have one humble suggestion: try placing a mic (or two for stereo, if possible) closer to the performers. This will get a cleaner sound that has more of the instruments and less of the room. Thank you for the beautiful music!

  • ....how did i end up here O.o

  • this vid is dry

  • @MegaGN2 It's music not a bloody martini. Just listen and enjoy!

  • I like how the whole ensemble is voiced low, with the standard F-bass actually in the upper half of the ensemble!

  • It seems they don't need Leenhout (conductor) for this one ;-)

  • @AlainNaigeon Dear Alan: Paul Leenhouts left Amsterdam last year and he is therefore not leading The Royal Wind Music anymore. Now the ensemble performs without a conductor, although we are still privileged to work with Paul Leenhouts and other guest artistic advisors (such as Daniël Brüggen and Kees Boeke) for special projects. Kind regards!

  • @RoyalWindMusic Thanks for the info - Mr Leenhouts did a great job !

Playing this sort of pieces without a conductor is a challenge !

I hope you come some day in Alsace (east of France), then for sure I won't miss your concert !
