The Alabama song is from Bert Brecht and Kurt Weils Three Penny Opera, just like Mack the Knife.

So it's natural that he'd sing both songs ;)

Aculally Mac The Knife came from Bertold Brecht just as Alabama Song does. they are stylistly similar and go together well and fit the Doors style and image as well.
