It is a very educative piece of information. School going children around the world need to know, understand and explain this important concept not only to friends but their families as well. I now believe that internet has brought more infomation which was hidden. I for one, am in Norway where I am getting suprised as to why the sun does not set so far as it happens where I come from in Africa. to be frank, Here in Norway I sleep by the watch and not by the light. Thank you for the news.
It's one of the best ways to design one there. The video mentions Ecuador-- it turns out, that place has just this sort of sundial in many places. They're traditional _and_ a tourist photo-op!
Wonderfully explained!!! Thank you very much for posting this!!!

Does the time of year come into play?

Only twice a year, at the equinoxes where they're hard to read because the whole dial face is in the shadow of the disc's edge.

Wow! Thanks, Bro! Very cool and useful. But any ideas about how to know what time it is on a cloudy day (without watches, etc.)?
Peace,
