Conversion wasnt wrong it was written wrong. and one of my figures was incorrect. The Cell CPU actually achieves 204 GFLOPS while the GPU + CPU can achieve 2.18 TFLOPS, whereas the xbox360 only achieves 1 TFLOPS with CPU + GPU combined. As to the DSP issue, the SPU's are not specialized for Digital Signal Proccessing so they are not DSP units. They are standard RISC Processors combined with a Memory Flow Controller. The S in SPU isn't "Symetrical" because the units do not opperate symetrically.
(CONT) The SPU's work Asymetrical to eachother, performing separate tasks independant of the others. Looking up the Deffinition of Synergy makes the term Synergistic Processing Unit make more sense, [The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.].
