i found out :D your dc01 was made in 1995 and dc04 made in 1999 my dc08 made in 15th march 2005

dc04 was first manafactured in 1998 lol they didnt exist in 1996 :( dc01 and dc02 did tho :)

i used to have this same dyson but the wire and plug were pueple and green lol it died becos i vacuumed some ash from firething and without a filter cus it was drying i was silly and couldnt be bothered then i cleaned it all up then next morning it turned on for one second, then silence it was dead i tried switch and cbale they were fine and fuse was fine i didnt want to fix motor i thought i couldnt so i gave it to a man that works at a scrap yard and he threw it in the air then landed in van

@Parwaz786 The reason the cord is slightly longer is because it is not the original cord. My Granddad replaced it when he replaced the clutch for me a couple of years ago.

@Parwaz786 The only DC07 Iv'e seen was a clutchless version that was smashed at the bottom and the cyclone assembly was completely clogged, so me and my Granddad smashed it we retrieved the motor, belt, wand, hose, brushbar, switch, cord and cyclone assembly for spares. Clutches are all well and good till they decide to die and think the brushbar is jammed all the time or just don't drive the brushbar properly.

@tlaroche38 ohh the dc07 origin or standard are the best ever dyson that cleans into the carpet and grooms more suction then dc04 and dc01 and dc24 it has 330 AW or 290 AW if its newer lol which model dc07? i had 4 dc07s, allerby (2x), standard and all floors.

@tlaroche38 enjoy im getting dc25 soon if not dc24 then yay do you like vax my aunty has a bagless cylinder vax it loses suction after 1 room i hate it and my mum had a 6140 pet bagged fragile but good suction and i klilled it cus i couldnt stand it then it got replaced by a dc04 this year i love it :D

@Parwaz786 My Grandma and Granddad have a Vax power 4 it's soooooooo loud it actually makes your ears ring and gives you earake!!! Does a brilliant job but is a pain in the butt to empty.

@tlaroche38 oow i went to my aunties house and used her vax cylinder i put shake and vac in the living room and it didnt pick it all up if you look closely theres some left i had to vacuum for a long time for it to get picked up

@Parwaz786 When I went to my Aunt's house she let me use her Kirby G5 it did brilliantly so I bought a Kirby

Legend II waiting to go pick it up as I bought it on eBay. Can't wait to test it against my Dyson's!

@tlaroche38 OMG! the kirby people every one likes kirby better then a dyson then once they use it they say oh dysons crap lol not some people i know like kirbys on ebay im watching dc07 origin, dc07 low reach red and pueple, dc05 lime and grey grr i believe out of all of them origin dc07 is the best

@Parwaz786 Yea the first test Ill do is that test salesmen use and prove that it is not fair, by making first the Kirby win then the Dyson win I think Dyson and Kirby are evenly matched but Dyson probably a little better.

@tlaroche38 kirby doesnt have on board tools, has bags, dirt goes through the fan, and light lol some look ugly and grey eurgh u cant use it on hard floors no hepa filter etc  no on board hose it goes on the box thingy.

@Parwaz786 Yup! Darn right. Oh, DC01 serial number is 840-A-254846 DC04 is 962-A-106444 I'm always worried about direct fan cleaners I don't trust them as much as Dyson's also Dyson's have tougher brushes so the deep clean better, and I love the onboard tools on Dyson's and the HEPA filtration as I suffer from hay fever.
