its my second most fav car my first is the AUDI S8 Quattro mark1 i love it. Not entirely the same thing. But the S8 has handling and power way beyond its design. The only machine ive driven on welsh roads and didnt put a foot wrong. Would make rally cars sweat on their tyres. The BMW 850 is simply stunning no end, great engines. When it comes to driving pleasure per pound and everyday comfort the Audi wins

Actually, the dinan kit upgrades both the engine and transmission. Its 388hp factory-- dinos at 438 with the upgrade. I've seen a twin paxton supercharger version that goes 1200 hp.

This car would have made a wonderful FIA GT1 racer ! I think they did not make it a race because its not a M even though it totally deserves it. AND maybe because the McLaren had the same engine but with a godlike chassis.

The 850CSi is one of the best cars they built sure, but even on that version the V12 isn't putting out 105bhp/Litre like the e46 M3 engine. If only people had bought it instead of the crap mercedes SL things we might have had a proper M version of the car.

The video may be called 850CSi, but the only CSi in the video is the black one with the "850 CSI" license plate... The 850CSi has a different nose air dam, a diffuser on the rear and four round stainless steel exhaust pipes instead of the black square ones. The European version also got ///M style mirrors. Note that the CSi bodykit became available to the 840Ci in some countries when the CSi was discontinued and some people retrofitted it to their 8 series, but none of those appear in the video.

If the car was always maintained properly, the costs are not that much higher than from a normal car. Of course, it has more cylinders, more electronics,... than most "normal" cars do, thus there's a lot more that can break and there are several known weaknesses. You should take that in account when planning a budget. But in general the 8 series are not known to be more unreliable than average.

If the car has been neglected, expect the worst. It will turn in a money-sucking black hole...
