I'm not even sure this is live to be honest - it;s very faithful to the original album version - which is unusual for Zeppelin live. Still brilliant though. Re Bootlegs - illegal recordings - Zeppelin were plagued by them for years - prob cause their live act is so different. They recorded some shows & " leaked" them to ensure the sound quality was at least good. The 'badge holders only' recording at the LA Forum is an example
I seem to remember "bootleg" being a tape that got smuggled out of a show in your boot... or boot leg! usually by a recoring engineer or "head" that was working the sound board.

Nice boot, this was obviously early cause Jimmy still sounds clean. He was always fucked up later. I guess the pressure of money and touring can do that to a man, LOL. Anyways, this is some of the best live guitar I've ever from him. You're lucky you got it. Nice post
The rest must sound pretty good too. You should post it.
It's a patch. He obviously had a hole there before because his cock is so huge it bust out. That, and he got tired of unbuttoning all the time so hot young girls could get some of it.

It means like basically an unprofessional recording. Bootlegs are recorded usually by not so great recording material by concert goers which is why quality isn't so great.
@SqueezeMyLemonBabe As bootlegs go this one is very good quality compared to others ive heard. The ones that were recorded on a small cassette player by somebody in the audience are the worst ones, this sounds like a soundboard recording. Thanks so much for uploading.
@Carbon657 Good quality sound, yes. But the preformance for the time is average. It's understandable though, as JPJ is playing with fractured ribs in this show!!
@feldmannpaul I had read it a few times over the years (various concert/bootleg reviews and boi's like "hammer...". I was able to confirm the stories for myself when I finally heard this concert in full (at least the portion that has been released) in which Plant makes a couple of direct references to the fact that Jones was playing with fractued ribs. One of the very 1st releases of this show on bootleg CD was titled in fact...fractued ribs.

@LinkBulletBill The term bootleg dates back to the prohibition days, when people would sneak alcohol in by strapping flasks to their legs and wearing tall boots to conceal it. Concert bootleggers use the same type of method to sneak in illegal recorders at shows. The thing is, they crank it so loud at their shows it prevents a decent recording from being made. And this, is the result ;)
Oh wow... Well I found out what it meant, but thanks still! xD Just like this was one of the first time I listened to a bootleg, 3 years ago, or close to it, since it still says 2 years ago, haha, but thanks anyways! :P
you know how everyone said that this was the first led zeppelin reunion in 26 years last year. if they would have known anything about led zep they would know that they had already done a reunion concert.
They never actually did an official reunion. they labeled this last one as a reunion cause of Bonham but I never saw it as a reunion. Zeppelin is nothing without Bonzo.
Thank you (Not the song), I agree 100%, without Bonzo, its just Jimmy Robert and John Paul, not that they're bad musicians, it's just not Zeppelin, plus great bootleg, it has every instrument that you can hear CLEARLY. I have a bootleg from the Fillmore West and getting one from Southampton, would you recommend any bootlegs for me?

sorry man.. i know its your opinion.. but i have to give u a "poor comment" for ranking beach boys after zeppelin.. well.. probably u just made a list with the only 28 bands u know.. haha
Anyone who puts down Zep in '77 obviously didn't see any of the shows at the Garden or the Forum. Most of those shows were better than anything they did in '73 or '75 when Robert was suffering from the flu. I know because I was there...
The 1973 tour (Song remains the Same...this cut) was sadly the last year they were great in concert. From then on, Page just didnt have that effortless ability of soloing non stop, and sounding great 100% of the time. 1975 tour was just OK, and it got worse from there. 77 tour was garbage time. Still one of the greatest bands of all time.
This is probably my second favourite version of SIBLY my favourite being 05-28-77 that was a brilliant one, The way the piano comes through in these two really adds to the emotion.
In 1974 I don't think they toured, I don't think they toured in 1978 either. They went on 12 world tours total I think...I'm not exactly sure on that, have to brush up on my Zeppelin history.
When Robert Plant drove off a cliff on the Greek island of Rhodes, he suffered a fractured elbow and a broken ankle. He was placed in a wheelchair which prevented the band from touring.
In 1977 his oldest son Karac died of a stomach infection when Plant was engaged on Led Zeppelin's concert tour of the United States. Karac's death later inspired him to write the song "All My Love" in tribute, featured on Led Zeppelin's final studio LP, 1979's In Through the Out Door.
instead there are many lives from 1972 like the album how the west was won ..and from 80 you can find on youtube many live lake the one at bruxelles ,.in the 1978 i think they were working for in through the outdoor
Sorry, I don't think LZ played Dallas in 73. I think they were there three times, 71, 75 & 77, all at Memorial Auditorium (also known as Convention Center). In 75, this song was not in the setlist. In 77, Dallas was the first stop on the tour. This is probably from 1971.
I went to the 75 Dallas show and this recording is better than the ambient sound that night. Must have had access to the mixer.
Since I've been loving you...an found out who and how you are...I decided to give No quarter...but thank God, there is a Stairway to Heaven... MM, PLEASE TOUCH ALL OF THEIR HEATS AND SOULS.

Uh..well I have a lot actually, if you're referring to bootlegs, I have just a bunch you'd have to ask which songs listing them would take a while..some of my favorites though are from the Destroyer and Blueberry hill bootlegs.
I have a bunch of bootleg Stairways but they are all too long to put on YouTube I've already tried to put a few on..I'm not sure about the '77 LA Forum I could check, if I do I'll put em up man!

Its the best performance I've ever heard of Achilles Last Stand and the drumming and solo are phenomenal. Its not sloppy at all and it was a 77 recording! Strange huh?
